Facial Reconstructive Surgery

53 year old female who had previously had a large skin cancer removed on her forehead/ hairline area. The defect was initially repaired with a full thickness skin graft by another Surgeon. The patient presented to my office 1 year later requesting scar revision. The skin graft and old scar were removed and the area reconstructed with an O to T closure. The postoperative picture is 3 months later.

31 year old male, who c/o inherited frog eyes with inherited bulging eyes, hollowness and darkness around eyes, and sclera show (lower eyelid retraction). He wanted more almond shape eyes. He cosmetic orbital decompression surgery, lower eyelid retraction surgery (without internal spacer graft), under-eye tear trough implant (to correct under eye hollowness, dark circles), followed later by filler injection in upper eyelids. Preop and 1 month postoperative photos are shown. Note improvement in lower eyelid position with elimination of sclera show and more almond shape eyes with less hollowness and darkness around eyes. (His upper eyelid ptosis was not addressed.)

	This middle-age man suffered trauma to right eye, causing right orbital fracture with inability to look up. He underwent successful repair.

This 35 year-old fireman injured his right eye, which had to be removed (evisceration). After healing, he got a right prosthetic (fake) eye.

18 year old female, with bulging eyes from Graves disease in teenage years, underwent orbital decompression surgery to restore her eyes to more normal, natural shape and function.

This 36 year old woman had a defect that included her cheek and a full-thickness defect that encompassed the entire left half of her nose after removal of her basal cell cancer with Mohs surgery. Her wound was repaired with a combination of recruiting tissue from her cheek in the form of a local cheek flap, an internal nasal mucosal lining flap, cartilage grafts to recreate the structure of the nose, and a forehead flap for the skin. She is shown 2 years post-operative.
