Review of Dr. Weiss and my Story, 04/30/2019:
Review:
I had my second consult with Dr. Weiss today for a "deep plane" face lift and Co2 laser resurfacing of my face and neck. I had so many questions that I was afraid I would frustrate him! To the contrary, he was very nice, answering all of my questions, and reassuring me about the things that I have been worried about. I asked about eye and brow procedures to go along with the face lift, and was prepared to do them if he said they would help the outcome I was seeking. I was impressed when he told me that they wouldn't be that noticeable, and that I didn't need them. Honesty, and Integrity. That is Huge to me. And his wife...she is the greatest at making you feel soooo comfortable about the entire process! So, I scheduled my surgery today and will have it May 9, 2019! Typically I would feel very anxious about something like this, such a huge change in my life, happening in less than 2 weeks. Instead I feel secure, happy, and am looking forward to it. I will update the progress and maybe share some photos if I feel comfortable about it at that time......(maybe just blur out part of my face :). I say this because if it had not been for so many people on here sharing their stories and photos, I know I would NOT be about to undergo this operation. So thank you all :))
My story:
I am 55 years young, but sunbathed most of my life. That, coupled with the stress of 22 years in an abusive marriage, along with yo-yo dieting since the age of 12, I feel that I have aged quicker than normal. I began a new chapter in my life 7 months ago, leaving the work force and embarking on a volunteer position in a Third world country, helping to rescue children from human trafficking. I have had a "fresh start" in so many areas of my life on the "outside" and have been healed of so many insecurities on the inside. Still, there has been a missing piece for me. I haven't felt that I looked "fresh" on the outside, the two were out of balanced. I have wrestled with this " balancing thing" for almost a year now. I can look in the mirror and be pleased with the woman I "see" emotionally and spiritually, but not so much physically.
There has been a LOT of praying about having this Operation, reading of Many articles, Looking at numerous "before and afters", and Researching of so many doctors. After my consult visit today I had the peace inside that it's "Ok" to do this. It's for me, not anyone else, and it's not about being vain, as I'm not. I know that I will be so much more comfortable in my own "skin" after I'm on the other side of this adventure! With Dr. Weiss's skilled hands (guided by the Great Physician's) I will soon have my "balance", being pleased with the physical reflection of the woman in the mirror :).
So here I go!! Pre-op is this Thursday and then I'm just a week away from the Big Day! :) If you've read this far, (sorry so long!) may God bless you and I pray that you enjoy your week!! :) - A.C.

Since I’ve only had a few hours sleep due to the pain, which I explained, I’ll repost @ my update later. Thank you for the concerns it helps me soooo much as no one else understands how I feel :) God bless you all !!

Ok since I can’t sleep, it’s 5:15 am now, 4 something with my first attempt! Lol
Basically I had said that I had read everywhere on here that clients didn’t experience much pain, and took only Tylenol if they did. That’s not what is happening to me! I am miserable with this pain. It’s Sat morn now. I had the deep plane on Thursday at 8 am. The CO2 laser at surgical suite was down, so I planned on doing it the next day (yday) in office at my post op. I almost backed out because I was already hurting so much. But I didn’t want to go through another 3 weeks recovery so I took the Valium and pain medication and went for it. It was tolerable, but of course burns now. But that’s not the worst pain, it’s from the surgery.....everywhere.

I take Norco anyway as a maintenance med for lupus and herniated disc, they had just been filled so the Dr couldn’t write an additional script. I guess not anyway, I’m really not sure @ the laws now as I’ve been living out of the country for years. I get my meds filled for long periods of time as an expat insurance, si I’d just filled them under my GP a few weeks ago, for 2 months.
But that’s not the problem....I feel Im Taking too many and too often. But as the Dr said, my body and make-up if it is different than others. I can’t take stronger meds such as Percocet as it makes me sick, and I can’t tell any difference in pain control.
I took a few pics last night, will post later. Today is definitely more swelling. Of course I forgot to have my Mom take pre op pics the night before. The Dr has some from pre op visit he said he’d share, so I’ll share those later.
Not sure @ this pain, he said it’d be much better today. Not so just yet.
When I had my tonsillectomy, I bled out, and I was shaking from the pain, bp did crazy things, so my outpatient procedure turned into my staying in ICU on a pain pump! That’s my history with pain pretty much....I have a very low tolerance to it. I have to let the Norco almost melt in my mouth or I can’t swallow them since my neck is sore (from the tube??). I’m guessing.
I’m not sure what else I can do or take....I’m just a little upset as I was thinking from all the reviews on here that the pain wasn’t this bad. I know everyone is different though. And also, the Dr didn't seem concerned that it was a problem, but I’m the one that’s miserable. I would expect to be kept more comfortable with the pain as I know (for me) it will aid in my healing. Being stressed out is definitely not good for it. And this surgery wasn’t cheap! We’ll see though. I did like my neck and jowls when the bandage came off yesterday! So he does great surgical work :). And he said everything went as good as it could have gone :). That’s a blessing!!
I’ll try to post later as I can bathe today. The swelling is definitely worse today that yesterday. I can hardly see how to type this! Lol.
God bless you all and have a great day!!

Oh no! I checked your profile but I don't see an update either. Once you get some rest please try again. One tip, you can copy and paste to a word document in case of any issues so you don't have to start from scratch. I look forward to hearing all about your day.

I need to correct above, the Dr was concerned about my pain, it’s just that I had the meds that he gives for this, just was having to take more of it. But I couldn’t have went stronger as it would have made me sick.

Hope you’re doing well. Keep us updated. I’ve had a long journey with abuse as well. I know you will look great!

I'm thinking about going to Dr. Weiss for a consultation too. Please update on your results as you can and the cost. Hope everything went great

just saw your update. I wouldn't go under general for a facelift and I think perhaps you did because you said something about your neck is sore from tube? Please let me know if he even gave you an option of light sedation bc if not, I'll save the consultation fee and try another. Thanks!

You would have to call his patient coordinator, but I was told that through trial and error, it’s just too delicate a surgery to have the potential for moving around. Now that was for long ones like mine....6 hours. Not sure @ others but she can give you more info.

I wanted to let you know that the Dr does do this without GA. The cost for him was around $7,000. Then the op room and anesthesia on top of that.
I would discuss the pain meds if you have a low pain tolerance or an autoimmune disorder. My lupus caused my pain to dial up 100x which caused me to take more meds than I should have. Actually I should have been out in something stronger to prevent that from happening. Every patient is different, so Dr’s can’t say they only give one type of pain med. if doing another surgery I will have this completely understood up front, to keep from being in continual pain needlessly, and taking too much of an opioid is dangerous I know.

On day 13, got all the staples and sutures taken out today. Everything is healing nicely and I’m loving the difference. I wish I had taken Before pics.....Dr Weiss took some at my pre-op, but I wanted to take some that really showed my neck and jowls. But just seeing the difference between his photos and the ones taken today, I was so surprised!! Although I still have quite a bit swelling, I’m still liking what I see! I had no makeup on today as I had the CO2 the same day as my surgery, but was cleared for that today also. Came home and tried it out, lol. Love my lips! Had fat transfer from under my neck. Will try to post some pictures:). Blessings to you all :)

Oh and the Dr was nice enough to take photos with his camera and email them to me split, side by side. This is my fave....no jowls or saggy neck....and lips! Also was given a super nice Skin Medica Skin care regimen, all 10 products came in a very nice carrying case. Can’t say enough about Dr. Weiss and his staff. I do wish I could update this Update and put them all together! I hope not to confuse anyone, Lol
