In February of this year, I had a facelift with Dr. Andrew Wolfe. At 6 weeks after surgery, I told him that I didn't see any improvement on my face and even less so on my neck, that what he did was not a facelift but a skin lift.

Then he told me that I have to wait at least 6 months to see improvements. At 6 months, I visited him again; he took the "after" surgery photos and he couldn't show me any result. Immediately he proposed to me that I am a good candidate to have a facelift revision and of course I said NO. I requested to have my money back, BUT he only returned me 50% of the amount from his fees. I not only wasted my time but also my money.

So sorry there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all.

I'm truly sorry that you are unhappy with your surgical result. Every face is different -- your "cookie cutter" criticism couldn't be more wrong. I treat every patient individually, and have a broad armamentarium of techniques to treat varying anatomy while respecting a given patient's desire for a more or less aggressive surgical effort. You are also quite incorrect that you had a "skin lift". I perform a SMAS tightening on all facelifts, big or small, and you had the same. Unfortunately, you did not see as dramatic an improvement as you desired. Facial skin can stretch, and the tissues can only be pulled so tight during surgery before scars start to widen or skin blood supply becomes compromised. This is one of the limitations of facelift surgery. I offered to perform a secondary tightening at my expense, with no costs to you, but you chose not to accept this offer. In an effort to make you happy, I went to the extraordinary step of refunding half of your surgical fees -- I defy you to find another surgeon who would offer a partial refund in the absence of any complication or wrongdoing. Unfortunately this has apparently left you unsatisfied for which I am sorry. I take patient satisfaction very seriously, but we don't succeed every time despite our best efforts. I wish you luck moving forward.

As I am searching this site for PS's in Denver, I was upset to see the 1 star. I want to just note that I appreciate the Dr's response and it seems he made a valiant effort to make you happy. Thanking the Dr for his response.

That is not a SMAS facelift.

I have to admit if this doctor, said he would redo at no cost, that is only fair. But to go as far as giving you back half your money... well he sounds very Reputable to me. Dr. Scott Thompson charged me the second time and still got it wrong and would not refund half of the money or anything at all.

If you didn't dare to post my before and after facelift surgery photo, there it you have it.
Is this a good facelift surgery?
Should I be happy with this kind of result?
Is this a “cookie cutter” criticism?
At the consultation, If you would have shown me this kind of after facelift photos...I assure you, I would have never chosen you.

Pictures talk louder than words, let future clients decide

It's unacceptable result. Like nothing has been done, or it was a "skin-only" lift that only holds for 3-4 months.

I’m so sorry. Dr standerfer, Dallas, TX never explained to me that I would lose a lot of hair because of a brow lift. Plus I have bald spots He did not tell me that there are different types of brow lifts. :(. I posted my pictures on June 10, 2020

Aside from the bald spots, how was the rest of your experience with Dr. Standefer. Were you happy with the results? I had 2 consultations with Dr. Standefer. In fact, my decision came down to him and another plastic surgeon. I chose the other plastic surgeon and ended up having a horrible experience and awful results. He must do the same type of brow lift as Standefer, because I too ended. up with all these bald spots on the crown of my head, and I didn't even know that the brow lift involved making incisions up there. I thought the incisions would just be right along my hairline. But nope, they were all over my entire head.

That surgeon needs to be struck off for lies and deception. It's obvious that a proper face lift hasnt occured. Can you get a refund?
