Two year anniversary of my surgery
Hello, friends!
I just wanted to give you my update on my lower facelift that Dr. Carmona did two years ago today. I am still very pleased with the results, though I know as time goes by "the grass withers and the flower fades!"
Anyway, here are today's selfies.
I've been retired from teaching for a year now, so I'm feeling much less stress, and my husband and I are even exercising regularly. We bought a recumbant tandem trike which we ride nearly every day - about 10 miles per day - depending on the weather. When people stop us to ask about the trike he says he really enjoys it since he steers and I pedal! Haha!
You'll notice that my hair grows very slowly. This is a year's growth (since Covid) with only a few trims to try to get my hair in shape!
Oh, by the way, my name on this site was first "Rutu" which is my Igala (Nigerian) name for Ruth. Somehow - perhaps because I answered comments on my phone instead of on my laptop - my name got switched to Beautiful2305. Honestly, I didn't mean for me to have two names, and I didn't create the second one. But I did want to assure you that the comments I made are mine, whether they're from Rutu or Beautiful2305!
I appreciate all your encouraging words, and I wish you all the best! God bless, Rutu

25 1/2 years makes a lot of difference!
Good morning, friends!
I was looking at my Facebook this morning and saw again - with pleasure - what our family had posted on Mothers' Day - a recreation of a family picture we had taken 25 years ago. I thought, what a great pair of pictures to share with my friends on this platform!
The first picture was taken on Thanksgiving Day, 1994, I'm guessing from the fact that my son Paul is about a year old in that pic. The second picture was taken on May 10, 2020, Mothers' Day. I just love how my now bearded big boy is doing his best to give the same facial expression, shoving at his father's neck/face a little. Have to laugh!!! And Caroline, whom I had on my hip in the first picture (she was about 4 years old) is now standing beside me at age 29, towering above me at 6 ft, but at about the right height according to the first picture! And she's still attempting to play with the brooch (the same brooch!!) I was wearing then and now!
See what Dr. Carmona has done for me. Yes, I'm now wearing glasses. And yes, I'm lightening my hair. But do I look like those 25 1/2 years have done me in? Thanks, Dr. Carmona!

Before and After (One Year Later). Worth it!!!!
My dear friend BloomUnlimited (whom I hope to meet up with one day!) suggested that I put a set of before and after pictures up for y'all to see. I had been thinking of doing it but felt lazy about it. It's always something, isn't it? One day it's that you're just too overworked, can't get enough sleep, got to many essays to read and grade; and the next day it's covid19 and everything has sloooowwwed down to a crawl, and though you've been resting, you feel laazzy and sleeeeeepy, so that finding the paired pictures and uploading them seems too much of a chore. Oh, and knowing that you have to write enough on a post that that this website will allow you to post it! Let me give it a shot now. Maybe I can post these before and after pics! Or maybe I'll have to keep typing!
