Great Experience So Far...

I had a lower lid blepharoplasty 2 days ago along with laser skin resurfacing. Things are going great so far, but still too swollen to really know how it turned out.
I know I was getting so desperately tired of looking TIRED. I've had bags since I was a kid. It's genetic. But, after having kids at about 30 years old, the bags became super prominent and very hard to hide.
I found my doctor by researching online. His predecessor, who trained him, was strongly recommended. What I loved was that my doc is an oculoplastic surgeon. He specializes in eyes, so I know he has seen it all. The receptionist team wasn't particularly jolly, but they were polite and respectful. The doctor himself has had a great bedside manner, and has been very wonderful in answering my questions and giving me good post-OP instructions.
I've had nearly no pain at all. Just tenderness and discomfort from swelling. I've been sleeping nearly sitting up each night (using a reading pillow and a few other strategically placed pillows), and i believe that's made a huge difference in reducing swelling, along with frequent cold compresses (which feel so amazing!).

I love your results! Did the doctor remove the fat or pushed it down? If the fat was removed, did you have fat grafting? Thank you!!!

The fat was just removed and nothing else. Over a year later and I'm still REALLY happy with my results, especially when looking back at the before pictures. I wouldn't have minded some of the fat being grafted downward, as I'm losing volume there, so I can still see the slightest amount of bag (nobody else can tell but me). But that's the perfectionist in me talking.

Day 3 post op

Still swollen, though not as much. The slowest part of the healing process has actually turned out to be the laser skin resurfacing! The discoloration and goopiness under my eyes is because of that. The skin is slowly sloughing off. Other than that, I have red in the white of one eye, but it doesn't hurt at all. If anything, my eyeballs are starting to feel itchy.

Cold compresses
slokerAugust 9, 2019
In case you find this helpful, these are the cold compresses I've been using. They have made such a huge difference in reducing swelling and just making my eyes feel so good. They're soooooo much better than a washcloth. I keep 2 in an ice bath and use 1 until it's no longer cool enough, then I use the second until it's no longer cool. Then I take a break for 20-40 minutes before I repeat. I've had a LOT of TV going on in the background the last few days!

Hello again! Could I please ask you where you got those cold compresses? They look so comfortable! Thank you!
Congratulations on your results! Thanks for sharing your experience.
