I've had so many procedures to mitigate old acne...

I've had so many procedures to mitigate old acne scars, beginning in 1981 when I was in my early 30s and had dermaplaning (done with a scalpel in a hospital). Over the past 10 years, I've done probably all types of laser treatments, CO2 fraxel resurfacing, platelet plasma therapy (where they take some of your blood, spin out the platelets and inject those into your skin). Most have been somewhat painful with varying recovery times and mildly effective. However, once aging set in hard and my face began to sag, my small improvements vanished. I decided to have a face lift (if you have scarring on your cheeks, I'm sure you've pulled the skin back and notice how smooth your skin looks). I also decided that, since I was not likely to have any more cosmetic surgeries, I would have a neck lift and upper bleph (for the sagging eyebrows).

I had luckily stumbled into Beryl's care years ago, and already trusted Dr. Imola (he did some facial nerve blocking for previous procedures and did the platelet procedure), but did see another doctor for a consult (I guess just because I felt I should). Happily, that other consult confirmed my choice of Dr. Imola as the right one.

Whenever you have surgery, you are warned of possible complications - I did have a couple of complications , but Dr. Imola went above and beyond in seeing me during my recovery, including during the night after my surgery while I was still in the hospital. (Spending that night in the hospital is optional, but I would recommend it.) He and Lisa, his assistant, were very proactive in treating me and making me feel like I was their only priority.

Now four months post-op, I am very happy with the results. It looks very natural and even friends I see often just say, wow, you're looking younger all the time. If they ask what I've done this time (like I said, I've had oh, so many procedures), they are shocked to learn I've had extensive cosmetic surgery. After pictures were posted from my 45th high school reunion last month, people commented that I looked so much younger than my classmates! The other professionals I see (hair dresser, non-medical aesthetician, eyebrow person) who see a lot of clients who've had face lifts, rave about the lack of scarring and other tell-tale signs of surgery - Dr. Imola tucks incisions and stitching behind your ears and in your scalp- apparently not every doctor does this. I had a facial this morning and the lady was looking in my eyebrows for my incision - when I told her the stitches were in the crease of the eyelid, she almost called me a liar!

When people ask what my secret is, I say Dr Imola, Beryl and Lisa - and everyone else in the office who makes you feel so welcome!
