Finally taking the plunge

The first few weeks were admittedly miserable for me but week 4 was a huge turning-point. I got my energy back and felt much more like myself. I started working out again at week 8 and now at week 10 I am so glad that I made this decision. Of course I am ecstatic at the aesthetic result but I am even happier with my functional improvement. Before this surgery I was a wreck due to increasingly worsening back pain. I had been working out to lose the pregnancy weight and had gotten pretty good at compensating for my lack of core strength/stability. Of course that did not last and injured my back repeatedly doing fairly routine/mundane movements. It had gotten to the point when sitting down and lying down were extremely painful and I could not go to bed without painkillers. I learned eventually that I had two herniated discs and because of my more exaggerated spine curvature this likely bothered me more than normal. I did PT and chiropractic adjustments to no avail. Amazing how when I got this TT I was able to lie down again without pain once the initial healing period was over. I could do squats and roll over in bed. I can bend over to do laundry and sit down to fold it. I can even get up from sitting on the floor without using my hands!! Dr.Vath and his team completely changed my life. I was beginning to get frustrated and depressed because of the pain and now it is mostly gone. I can continue to live an active lifestyle and play with my young children...and the icing on the cake is that I can wear a 2-piece bathing suit again lol. I wold not hesitate to recommend Dr.Vath to anyone considering this surgery. Fantastic.

I'm still swollen and still healing but happy to see my waist after years of not having one lol. I did notice though that my belly button was noticeably off-center. I now know that if your BB wasn't symmetrical before, it won't be afterward and I didn't have a chance. I was a size 0 before my first pregnancy and gained 60 lbs due to lots of excess fluid. My second pregnancy occurred when my daughter was 9 months old and was a high risk twin pregnancy. I gained 80 lbs and did a lot of damage. I was disappointed initially, but so happy with other aspects of the results, I really couldn't be that mad. But...just so you know...

I'm guessing I can't afford the down time necessary to properly recover from this procedure. I'm getting annoyed because there is so much to do and yet I'm wiped out just barely getting a fraction of it done. Then all my incisions are super sore and it's tough to fall asleep at night without being medicated...which of course I hate. I should have known this would be hard given all of the info on this site...but you know how people are. At least the swelling isn't as bad :-/
