Double Eyelid Surgery with Ptosis Repair.
I had double eyelid surgery with ptosis repair with Dr. John Kang in his Manhattan location almost 5 months ago. Overall, I am very happy with the results and love how I look now.
The day of surgery was relatively simple, the nurses were very comforting. While surgery is always a bit scary, this part was straightforward. The first week recovery also went well, lots of icing and relaxing at home.
About the first 1-2 months after surgery, my eyes were uncomfortable because of the ptosis repair. It felt like my eyes were being tugged upward so it was uncomfortable to be out and about and have to keep them open. I think also with the ptosis repair, my eyes were more swollen for longer than I expected. It's been 5 months since surgery and they are still noticeably swollen and look a bit off, but I expect the swelling to continue to go down and there's definitely improvement each month.
About 2 months ago, I also noticed some redness and a slight bump on one of my eyes that lasted about a month. It wasn't awful, but definitely noticeable and I wasn't sure if it was from wearing makeup, the sun, or something else. After 3+ weeks of it still being there, Dr. Kang gave me some steroid cream to put on it for a week and then it eventually went away.
My overall recommendation would be to take longer recovery time for yourself if you're doing ptosis repair.
