My Positive and Full Experience with NANA Plastic Surgery Gangnam.
I had 2 main concerns to address:
- 1 double eye lid surgery to cover scar on one eye and have more open eyes
- Double chin liposuction for slimmer face
I have started my research and online consultations with different clinics in February 2025 and I had my surgery already on April 15th at NANA. From 7-8 clinics I chose NANA based on their professional consultation, realistic expectations, fast and pleasant communication. They were also first to reply and they made good first impression. Information was very well prepared and structured, answers were clear and informative.
From February till my very last day in Seoul I was in close touch with Iris, my consultant. She is very professional and knowledgeable. She is extremely pleasant via chats as well as in person. She arranged everything I needed: hotel, van pick up and send off, consultations with the doctor, post op care. I could always rely on her quick a fast reply. She also was very flexible and was able to make last minute changes if I had any.
I visited NANA for the first time on 14th of April, cause I had my first live consultation with the surgeon, who’s name is dr. Park Song Yi. When I arrived to NANA I was greeted by Lily. She was my consultant pre operation. Lily is very professional and knowledgeable and also extremely nice and sweet. I also met Alina, another consultant who guided me through the process. She took me to take pre operation photos. Alina was very nice and sweet as well. Afterwards, I had consultation with Lily first prior meeting the doctor and she could explain everything to me in details same well as a doctor. We discussed my concerns and she relayed it all to the doctor later. I had to wait for quite a while for the doctor’s consultation, but the time was used efficiently. We did some paperwork in the meantime. After dr. Park Song Yi’s arrival, we again discussed areas of concerns, questions, recommendations. She was very sweet and nice. Afterwords we did more paperwork and payment to minimize errands on the day of the surgery. I like how they only consulted me around the areas of my concerns and they did not try to offer or push on me more procedures. They did ask if I am open to recommendations, but they did not push anything or did not give unwanted opinions.
Here is the breakdown of things I have done:
- Ptosis correction
- Incisional double eye lid method
- Lower fat repositioning (to even out eye bags)
- Face liposuction (cheeks, double chin)
- 8 lifting threads
On the day of the surgery I was greeted by Iris, Lily, Alina and Farah. All the girls are extremely nice and I had a pleasure meeting them. First I changed clothes to hospital clothes, washed my face and mouth. Then I met surgeon for modeling. Consultants gave me care bag with 2 cooling packs for eyes or face, medical gauze, sterile q tips, wet tissues, disinfecting spray. Afterwards I left my clothes at the lockers and went into the operation. Iris was with me the whole time before the operation has started. She was keeping up with a conversation to distract me from my nerves. She also translated everything medical staff was saying and doing. She held my hand till I fell asleep.
After the surgery I woke up very thirsty, cause you need to fast for 8 hours prior the surgery, no water either, so you feel the thirst immediately. Nurses noticed that I am awake and gave me water and grape juice. After some time they asked me if I am ready to go or if I would like to rest for a bit more, and I chose to rest for a bit longer. Then I believe Alina helped me get my things back and get ready to go to the hotel. Staff were also very nice to notify my husband that I am done so he can pick me up. After, we went to the pharmacy together and got all the necessary medications. Then Alina called a taxi to take us back to the hotel.
On the day of operation I only wanted to sleep and keep my eyes shut. Eyes were blurry, while whole face was swollen. I stayed at the hotel for 3 days and I went out for half a day walk on 18th. After that going out, eating out was easier. I only needed to ensure I can disinfect my eyes 3 times per day, apply ointment of the eyes 3 times per day, use eye drops 3 times per day, eat 3 times per day to take prescribed pills. I also had compression garment on that I wore for 5 days without taking it off. Till today my eyes and face are still swollen and bruised, but it is getting better every day.
NANA signed me up for a post op care sessions to help with swelling and healing. I had 3 times hyperbaric oxygen chamber, 4 times heal lite laser, 1 time oxygen therapy for face (mini facial after stitch removal. Initially we agreed on less, but NANA consultants were very thoughtful and caring and provided more treatments for no additional price. All post care treatments were guided by consultants of course. I also requested an additional doctor check up, cause of the pain in the cheeks and Iris gladly arranged one with a very short notice.
As a summary, I would highly recommend NANA, as my experience has been great. Of course, it is too early to say if I fully like the result of the surgery due to swelling (only a week post op), but the whole experience from start to finish was extremely nice, pleasant, well communicated. While staff is very caring and helpful.
Few notes/recommendations for those going for the same surgeries:
- Bring hats, glasses, eye masks with you and buy in advance
- Get a physical SIM card instead of eSIM in case you plan to order food delivery. You need Korean phone number to register.
- Get additional compression band to switch for wash.
- You would need a lot more sterile q tips than they give you in the care package, you can easily get it in the closest Daiso.
- You will not be able to wash your face properly, so I would recommend buying a micellar water to wash your face with cotton pads.
- It is also hard to wash your hair cause of compression band and stitches. But you can ask NANA consultants to arrange hair wash at the salon after at least 3 days of surgery.
