Natural but Noticeable Results
I decided to pursue Asian eyelid surgery because one of my eyelids occasionally collapsed causing significant asymmetry as well as an “angry” expression on the collapsed eye. I also had additional folds on each eyelid that made it really difficult to apply eye makeup effectively, because any colour would be sandwiched between the excess folds even though I naturally have double eyelids.
During the surgery process from consultation to aftercare, I felt assured that I was in professional hands, with the right balance between meeting client wants and getting natural-looking results. I also appreciated the friendliness and kindness of the nurses, especially Danielle.
I had minimal pain post-surgery but the swelling made my eyes unable to focus fully on small text for nearly a week following surgery - this made it difficult for me to read and write which I had been planning to do that week, but this was probably the most negative impact of the recovery process. I am now about 2.5 months after my surgery and am aware that my eyelids will continue to heal and change, but I’ve felt that my eyelids have looked “fully” recovered since about 1 month after surgery.
It’s great being able to now do eye makeup to build on my features instead of correcting things like asymmetry and excess folds. Where before I had to apply quite a lot of makeup to get any effect, I feel like I can do a more natural look more effectively. It’s such a relief as well to not have to hold up the excess folds with my eyebrow muscles.
