Actually it's in Miami and I live in Alabama. I would have to fly there as well. Like Duran work is awesome, Salzhauer's work is too. It's just that I can get a little bit more done with Duran's price. There are absolutely no bad reviews on her and him either. I guess what's pulling me more towards Duran is her deposit is only $250, for 2 procedures, my price is 4800 and like I said, her work is awesome. Salzhauer's deposit is $1000 and for the bbl, his price is $6996. But his work is great too. Such a headache lol.

I agree! It's just not worth it. They are killing women and most of them are disfigured and coming home with infections. I would stay the hell away from DR.

I disagree. Because it happens here in the states as well. What needs to be done is do tons of research and ladies be honest, if your ps asks you if you have or had any minor sx or ANY medical conditions tell them. Sometimes when we are not honest and try to get I we want at ANY cost, that's when problem happens. PS do not read minds nor are magicians.

Yes I do agree with this! Be honest at all costs. I saw where one was mad that the doctor wouldn't do hers because of something, I forgot what but she basically went to the DR for absolutely NOTHING. She was mad but I think she should thank GOD they didn't take her money and operate anyway. Could have killed her.

I agree. I do think it is so risky to travel that far for such an invasive procedure. I would NEVER have a surgery done in a place where people wake up ON THE TABLE, DURING SURGERY! That just shows the anesthesiologist is not qualified. Not only do you want to interview the surgeon but you also want to know about the surgical team and support staff"s credentials. So scary what can happen locally, let alone another country where the certification standards are different. Best wishes to all.

Actually these people are having epidural, not general anesthesia. They are also given a blue pill that relaxes you and put you to sleep. This is different from general anesthesia.

I disagree. When a patient "wakes up" from a surgery has a lot to do with the level of ones medical condition, for example ps recommends a patient to have a BMI lower than 35 is for a reason, etc and like I said before honesty is the best policy. Once you are in the OR is too late to undo a sx, they have to continue. Those cases of "waking up during surgery" does not apply for everybody.

I agree with the motto you get what you pay for too a point. Yes most of the time. However, My sister stayed here is the US and had a full tummy tuck with lipo only on flanks And a breast lift.. She paid almost 20 thousand. And she was skinny before basically just skin. And right now she is planning on going ro the DR. Because she looks like nothing was done. As far as her breast lift that came out good. But her tummy tuck and lipo she was way over charged because it is awful

Then I will be doing at a different time because I don't want to be unable to move in another country, a breast lift with augmentation shortly after.

Yes they use BMI to determine the level of effectiveness of the anesthesia they use will have. If BMI is too high the the drug has to be administered at a higher level. However, doctors in DR do not typically use general anesthesia. There are different types of sedation for different procedures. MzJon is right that they use the spinal block in DR, it is less risky than putting you under completely. They use this in the US too for certain surgical procedures, its called Twilight Sedation in the US, look it up. Its the same thing if you have a C-section, you are awake! However in DR they give you a blue pill (i think its like Adavan or something, an anxiety pill) to put you to sleep so you are not just laying there for 3-4 hrs awake(yikes) But you can be easily awaken from Twilight Sedation, unlike General, where the medicine must wear off before you become fully conscious.

No deaths but who wants to wake up to interns or desk assistance working on you???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Smh!

this just isnt with Duran. Yily has some reviews like that as well to the point that she has inserted it in her email that she steps out the room at some point (after surgery) incase you wake up and do not see her.

I'm not here to bash these doctors by no means. I've read countless of reviews on Realself about Yily, her client sister is reporting her death on RS, Duran has known pics of burns from aggressive lipo and folks are waking up during surgery with someone working on them. , (Edgar Contreras has five known deaths), the list goes on and on. All you have to do is search bad reviews and deaths under these doctors on realself and google and you would get their history. That was enough for me to stay out of DR. These women aren't coming back home to their families. Google has recent information about those deaths. Robles has one death listed. CIPLA was the hospital that was closed down numerous times because of deaths and infections. The only doctor I haven't heard bad reviews on is Baez and Almonte. Good Luck!

I have seen and heard about the shut downs for diseases and infections, in CIPLA. But not in the last few months. But CUPLA has been in the news alot for scary stuff.

@amichele0822, I got my tummy tuck in Columbus, GA and my doctor did an awesome job. Continue to do your research and you are already considering Dr. S so just be safe and save your money. Follow Dr. S on instagram his name is (drmiami) he's pricey but he cares about his patients and he will not perform any surgery that will cause great harm to his patients. He takes pride in not having any deaths. He will not operate on you if your over the bmi and if you're a smoker for your safety. Good luck Hun!

It's nothing to be scared of really, Don't go to Duran just because she's well known. Do your research on her and a few other doctors in DR and see what you can come up with. I can only think of ONE doctor that matches all these "complications" and "infections" and "deaths" I'm reading in these comments. Don't let these people scare you girl, cause it's not about them. It's about you, Try and get in touch with some women who went to Duran and see if they'd share their experience with you.

I agree with transcendd. Duran was not my first choice until I did my own research.

I actually have been talking to some of the women and they've only had great things to say about her. Like on Instagram some they were saying nice things but on here, it's different.

Because on here you're hearing from ladies that have never been to DR, and are going on what they THINK Duran is like and what they think the treatment is like, based on what OTHER doctors that have had nothing to do with Duran, have done to their patients. Really baffles me how someone can bash a country and their medical system without ever going. but to each it's own.

I agree with Kim Grant! What ppl dont understand about surgery is 1. NO doctor does surgery solo! Lol there are multiple doctors in the operating room and they assist each other. This is the norm, it is not a one-man job and its for your safety!! This is true for all US BOARD CERTIFIED DOCTORS, too. Lol. 2. Just as many people die and get infections in the US, im willing to bet, more! How many well known celebrities can you name who have died or had BOTCHED procedures, right here in the US? And they have money to pay for the best! Its not just about money. 3. Just cuz you pay 15k doesnt mean you'll get what you paid for! I attend a few FB surgery groups and the complaints and issues are inumerable. Tbh, the results are even mediocre. When someone from DR posts their before and afters everyone goes wild with comments and questions cuz they like what they see! 4. Ive not heard Duran have any deaths, i could be wrong but she has over 700 reviews on RS. 700! Thats a lot. She is very experienced. That means she's seen a lot of different patients, bodies, scenarios, issues dealing with surgery. Thats who you want, someone with experience, not just "no deaths". 4. The ABC's of surgery in order of risk: (A) Anesthesia, general (B) Blood clots (C)Hepatitis-C. As many of the ladies have already said, do your 'due diligence' when it comes to research. We as Americans have the tendency to sensationalize everything. There are good doctors all over the world, not just the US. Many patient complications come from people going to doctors who are not Board certified, Duran is, and not disclosing all the their health history to their surgeon because they are desperate for the results or dont think its a big deal that they smoke, have athesma, taking certain meds, etc. I think Duran is the best in DR. I initally planned to go to her but decided on Almonte simply because I'm not willing to deal with the issues at CIPLA. If Duran wasnt at CIPLA I'd scheduled with her. Good Luck!

The nurses at CIPLA have a bad reputation for being mean, rude and uncaring. Do not respond when you call for them. As well things not being cleaned properly. If you go to Duran, as for a surgery date where you can be her first patient
