Hello all,

So I decided to start documenting my journey since I've FINALLY picked my Doc and know I won't be going back and forth trying to decide who to go to.

Anyways, I'll be having Lipo and BBL surgery with Dr. Diaz in May. Originally I wanted Duran, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows it is VERY DIFFICULT to get in touch with her. I reached out to a few docs to just get a couple quotes/info. I've been researching for a while, like over a year and just recently reached out to docs. I recieved quotes/info from (I'll explain their pros and cons):

Baez: Pros- gives natural booties, doesn't work on a lot of patients a day, know someone personally who went to her. Cons- she's booked until after June 10 (she told me personally) also her communication is decent. Since my friend is a Baez doll I was able to utilize her to get in contact w/ her for me to get quotes and check availability. She responded thru emails and whatsapp right afterwards
Almontes: Pros- Her assistant has EXCELLENT communication thru whatsapp. Very detailed, answers all questions, responds quickly like within a day or two (usually early AM). I liked the all inclusive pricing. Cons- to be honest, it was only trying to find before and afters on smaller girls. So that made me keep looking for other docs
Duran: Pros- pretty sure she would give me the butt I want, plenty of reviews to confirm that theory. Cons- still waiting on a response just for a quote at least
Yily: She was my Duran back up. Pros- plenty of reviews on smaller girls. Cons- communication. Took like a week to respond then answered questions in bits and pieces, had to keep asking for a quote and she finally gave it to me. She does communicate through whatsapp. Asked for a official email, never got it. But did send bank info to confirm thru whatsapp (go figure). Also I read she works on A LOT of patients in one day
Cabral: (just wanted to get a quote but had no plans to go to him) Pros- Communication quick..sent message on whatsapp received a response later that night. Answers all questions Cons- said I didnt need to gain weight for what I wanted (side eye), when asked for quotes and availability he sent me a screen shot of a premade what looked like an Instagram quote of his price, and numbers to call his assistant to check availability
Contreras: Pros- cheapest out of all those I contacted, had an all inclusive and separate pricing. Good communication through email. Cons: his prices are broken down so good if you want to arrange transpo, brings meds, faja and what not if not doing all inclusive. So really it's either a pro or con depending how you look at it
Robles: Con-Saw her reviews on smaller girls Pro- still waiting on a quote (sent thru email and whatapp)
Diaz: Pros-EXCELLENT communication thru whatsapp. Sent message w/pics and asked for a quote with a couple questions (as I do with all docs) and he responded in about an hour. Answered all my questions, has all inclusive. Cheapest after Contreras w/o all inclusive. Pros: Not many reviews on smaller girls, but I have faith he can give me what I want.

Tip: I communicated to all Docs (except Diaz) in English and Spanish. Almontes assistant asked if I spoke English lol and we communicate on whatsapp in English. Contreras, Cabral, and Yily responded in Spanish. I had no issues communicating back in Spanish. Once Contreras relized I spoke English, we spoke in English. So just use google translate and I believe it helps to get a response quicker. I knew Dr Diaz spoke English so I didn't bother with Spanish

Final review on docs: So originally (in order) it was Baez, Duran then Yily. But after research it changed to Almontes, Yily, Contreras. After further research Contreras, Yily, Almontes. Then more research and gut feeling, Dr. Diaz with no question. Personally for me I went with him because with the others I kept looking for other docs, but once I found him I didn't want anyone else. I feel like he has Almontes customer service (EXCELLENT) with Yily/Duran skills. So he is my final choice. And he told me I need to gain 10 lbs., Almontes assistant said 20 lol. I'm trying for 15 to be on the safe side.

Now that I have my doc, I'm debating between all inclusive or getting a RH on my own. Also I'll be traveling solo and my Spanish is "ok" it's enough to get what I need. I'm an avid traveler so I'm not worried about traveling on my own. I've been to over 15 countries solo so I can adapt VERY quickly. But if anyone wants to be surgery buddies let me know!

I have a driver set up already (he's AWESOME) talks to me thru whatsapp and gives me the 411 on a lot of stuff about DR and what not. Plus he's dirt cheap, I plan to get out and explore DR at least for one day. Again I PLAN to, never know until I get there. He speaks PERFECT English
Massages are included in my surgery (10 w/ Brunilda...I also have her on whatsapp)

I plan to hire an overnight nurse, don't have a specific one. But I know a few RH as well as CIPLA have them for $50

Also I'm not including my actual quote because everyone is different and I noticed a lot of people compare as to why they were quoted this and that compared to others but I'll give you a range. The avg was 3500 b/n all the docs (lipo +bbl) that was also the highest so $3500 to 2500 being the lowest. I will let you know that I'm not paying $3500 and I'm not paying $2500. I am tho VERY happy with the quote I received from Dr. Diaz.

So until the next time I update. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Also the next thing on the agenda is start getting supplies, book my flight, and schedule my appt with my doc get my CBC count and what not. Also another note...since my meds are free, I'll be bringing them from the U.S.

Until next time dolls....

Random info about CC's

SkinnytoBBL
There are 1,000 ccs in a liter.

What is the relationship between cc and pounds?
Even though cc (cubic centimeter or cubic centiliter) is a measure of volume and the pound is a measure of weight, there is a way to calculate the relationship pretty closely.

1,000 cc = 1 liter
1 liter (of water) weighs 1 kilogram
1 kg = 2.2 pounds
- or -
1 pound = 454.5 cc (approx.)

Everyone wants to know how much fat was taken out during their liposuction. Although understandable, it's not always quite as important as people think. As virtually everyone reading this site already knows, liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss procedure. And unlike breast implants, where you can eventually see pretty much what you have, the number of cc's removed is not always as evident.

Before discussing this, let's go over a few definitions. A "cc" is a metric measurement of volume that is used commonly in medicine and science. 1,000 cc's, which is also called a "liter," is about a quart. A liter of liquid weighs about 2.2 pounds (obviously, a liter of air weighs much less, and a liter of iron would weigh much more - remember, it's a volume, not a weight) and one pound is about 450 cc's.

When someone tells you how many cc's were removed, you really have to know specifically what they're talking about. Part of the confusion is because there are many different ways of counting it. In liposuction, a certain amount of fluid (i.e., superwet or tumescent) is injected before doing the surgery. You need to know how much fluid was injected because if, for example, two doctors say a total of 3,000 ccs was removed, but one injected 1000 cc's beforehand and the other injected 2,500, it makes a big difference. One surgeon advertised that he typically removed 10 quarts from his patients but failed to note that he also injected 8 or 9 quarts of fluid, meaning that the real amount of fat he removed was more like 1 or 2 quarts.

So if you're quoted a number, is that the total amount of material removed, or does it take into consideration how much was injected and how much settled out? In fact, the most accurate method is if the surgeon lets the total amount of fat and fluid removed sit for a while (at least 20 minutes or so) and then counts only the supranatant fat; i.e., the fat that is floating, as opposed to the total amount removed. Fat is very light (lighter than skin, muscle, bone, etc.) and so it floats on top. (That's also why you don't lose as much WEIGHT with lipo as many people wish - sorry!) Even that, strictly speaking, is not completely accurate since the "fat" in that layer still contains some of the fluid injected, some blood, and other body exudates (fluids). And, of course, there is a limit to the amount of fat that can be removed safely in a single procedure.

Finally, the absolute amount of fat removed is not nearly as important as the relative amount. 500 cc's removed from someone who is petite is likely to produce a much more dramatic change and result than 3,000 cc's removed from someone who is significantly larger. Some of my best results (depending, of course, on how you want to define that) have been achieved by removing well under 1,000 cc's. The issue is really how much fat was removed relative to the individual body in question. Either way, it's often not what was taken out that matters the most, it's what's left behind.

Tourist Card

SkinnytoBBL
So while I'm researching I came across an idea. I read that you have to pay $10 for your tourist card when you arrive in DR. Well I googled and I found the site where you can order it online. People in the comment section (it was a forum on trip advisor) stated after you pay, just print it out and then you hand it to the security guard when you are leaving. Also a few people stated that it may or may not cut down on the long lines b/c you really won't know how long the line will be until you arrive. So I decided to just go ahead and do it online since it's the same price, and more convenient. I have the website if anyone needs it just pm me.
