43 Year Old Female Who Had Gastric Bypass 4 Years Ago and Was Left with an Enormous Amount of Excess Abdominal Skin.....

My Gastric bypass surgery completely changed my life. I lost 125lbs and went from a size 22 to a size 0. I love my new lease on life and over the past 4 years have fallen deeply in love with Yoga, Running, Zumba and pretty much any physical activity that helps me maintain my health and active lifestyle. After 4 years and a total life makeover, I was ready to let go of the scars and reminders of my previous self which meant I needed to get rid of the “Fat Skin”, much like I got rid of all my ‘Big’ Girl clothes from the closest. I didn’t hang onto the clothes as a lost weight because I will never wear them again and I didn’t want to hang onto all the excess skins on my stomach because I am never going to fill it in again! Deciding to have a Tummy tuck was not something I decided quickly or in vain, this is a serious surgery and hard recovery and something I researched, thought about and prayed about for over a year. I met with a couple of different doctors and was either disappointed with their confidence to give me the results I wanted and /or shocked by their prices. UNTIL Doctor Burden! Dr. Burden not only understood my journey and how hard I worked to get to this point in my health and lifestyle but also agreed to do whatever was needed to help me make this huge transition into my new and improved healthy body! I love his confidence, compassion and even his jokes!! But most of all I completely adore his staff… they say behind every good man there is a good woman, well the GREAT woman behind Dr. Burden is his nurse Joan! Joan is phenomenal, she always takes my panic calls, reassure me when I am scared, makes sure all my needs are met, questions answered and made this transition into my new body as comfortable, pain free and incredible as possible. Dr. Burden, Joan and all the folks at Destin Plastic Surgery Center are extraordinarily impressive in their performance, knowledge, facility, treatment, and care of their clients. I feel so blessed to have shared this part of my journey with Dr. Burden, Joan and Destin Plastic Surgery Center!
