Hey! Had my surgery Nov. 16, 2015. I am very into powerlifting and strongman, so interested to see how getting back to those movements will be! You can follow my journey on YouTube on the channel: Theshopfitness. I will be posting regular videos with my progress!
I lost my weight 12 years ago. I always thought I would be able to overcome the skin issue and just deal with it. However, that was not the case, so I had the surgery! I was very nervous prior, especially the morning of when they are prepping you. The staff was really good at easing you through it though! Surgery time was about 3 hours and luckily, I remember falling asleep and then waking up in the recovery area, so that was good! You do get a breathing tube and a catheter, both are put in and taken out when you are asleep, so no worries there. Overall, pain has been manageable and since I always expect the absolute worse, has been slightly less than my expectations, which is great! I feel like I want to be up and moving, but I know I shouldn't be. It's 3 days post surgery and I'm up and around the house pretty easy, doing basic stuff like preparing food, laundry, showering, etc. Like I said above, for a detailed follow along, head to the YouTube or Facebook page and join me in my journey!
