I've had Juvederm placed at the tear troughs by a plastic surgeon and was very happy. I'd also had some put in at the nasal folds and to help turn the corners of mouth up a bit. While I loved the Dr. I'd gone to, personal issues of the doctor's made scheduling difficult. I many appoinments put off, which I was fine with, until..... My mother passed away in Feb. I turned 45 in late April and in May a friend commented that she could tell I was having a hard time bc I was losing weight in my face. Well, fact of the matter was I'd gained, not lost. I realized the Juvederm had finally disappeared (I'd had great results, fyi, it lasted about 2 yrs). So, I decided I needed more filler...STAT. I didn't wait the lousy few months until my appointment with my regular dr. I did some research, asked a friend and went to a doctor who looked great on paper...expert injector, recommendation from a friend of my friend, good online reviews. The only box that he couldn't check was that he was an oral facial surgeon instead of a plastic surgeon. Long story short, I still have as of today what looks like slight bruising under one of my eyes. I'd had a follow up with the oral guy and he was so uninterested in my concerns it was ridiculous. I had to go back to my regular plastic surgeon to have some of the filler removed and new filler injected. I wrote a letter to the original dr bc I was just so unhappy and annoyed and his response was insulting and showed that just like in his appointments with me, he didn't really bother to listen. He also placed the filler in such a way that a) didn't address my initial concern and b) just looked unnatural.

This doctor does not listen well to patient goals and concerns. He is much too quick in injecting and does not bother to massage in the product as should be customary. Whether poor injection technique, too shallowly placed filler this doctor caused what appears to now be permanent discoloration under my eye.
