Day by Day with Kybella

I had a submental pouch of fat under my soft palate, so not a double chin as such. I was excited to try Kybella as my daughters wedding is coming up in August and I want to look my best. The clinician assessed me and we discussed if maybe with the structure of my area it might leave sagging skin. I did NOT want this and appreciated her honesty. She double checked with another staff member who assured her no I’d be an ideal candidate and would probably only need one vial. It seemed totally worth doing so I signed off on one vial. I swelled up like a bullfrog, jiggling sensation and all. I had to wear scarves up to my chin for over a week as the obvious swelling subsided. I’d been told swelling is good, it’s what we want, it means the chemicals are working. I’ve included pictures to date. My concern currently is that tomorrow marks the three week mark and I look exactly the same as before. I know they say ‘it can take more than one treatment’. I get that, but should I expect SOME change? Perhaps I’ve not given it enough time (though it does seem to have stopped changing altogether). Do I go ahead and fork out fir skin tightening therapy and more kybella (neither of which I can really afford). My face is not shown not due to vanity...but I also had surgical mole to cal on my chin so I have stitches in my face!! I’d love to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience to how I feel now. Did yours get better over time? If so, how long? Also, does it look like I need skin tightening therapy instead of kybella? If so which one works fastest. I almost wish at this point that I hadn’t started.

Some improvement?

Undated photo us today. I THINK there’s improvement. I’d appreciate your opinions. Traceyanimallover, I hope seeing these helps :-) it seemed like over a twenty four hour period the swelling just decided to speak up?! Now it feels like that pouch that was there and bothered me...it seems flatter

May have been a bit ahead of myself

Actually, in the interest of honesty, I think I was being a bit ahead of myself that day. It seems the same as before :-( I mean, if you see a change please do tell me. It’s four weeks today and if anything it’s the same as before if not a little worse :-(

You very well may see more improvement over the next 2-3 weeks. When I did mine, it took 2 weeks for the initial swelling to go back down to my baseline. Then, it wasn't until about the 6th week that I finally saw noticeable results. I wrote a review with photos and follow-ups a couple years ago. I did 2 vials, 2 times, and all in all it was about 6 months total time to reach my final results. Hang in there! Here's hoping you feel better about it after a bit more time.

I am in misery on day 12. My throat is killing me and my neck hurts (I think from straining not to move much). I am just so terrified about what I will look like when this is all over and if I will have permanent damage.

Thank you for posting this. My daughter gets married August 3rd and if this doesn’t change I’ll be going there with a bigger problem than I started with. One question, it’s still sort of sore over the injectable area. Is this normal? I’m hoping it means it hasn’t finished it’s work

I was tender in a couple spots for close to a month. The discomfort lessened more with each passing week. When I did the second round, almost 3 months later, it was a lot less painful and the swelling went down much faster.
