Under Eye Filler: Better Than I Thought - Dallas, TX

ORIGINAL POST

I was so afraid of getting filler under my eyes...

WORTH IT$650
I was so afraid of getting filler under my eyes that I waited 3 years to pull the trigger. I researched a lot of professionals and ended up paying a few more dollars to go with Dr. Teotia -- a plastic surgeon -- and they were dollars well spent. I could not have asked for a better result!

As a fair skinned, redhead: I knew I would bruise. Even knowing that, it was hard to wait a whole week (really about 2-3 weeks for the best result) without getting worried. I went back in after 1 week and Dr. Teotia assured me to keep waiting a few more days and it would get better. She was very patient with me - and she was right! By week three my eyes looked great! I don't think I can ever go back to the before pics again!

Your eyes look beautiful, thank you for sharing your review and your pics!

What prompted you to choose Restylane Silk versus other fillers?

Thanks! I interviewed three different doctors. One suggested Pearlane (which I have read is too heavy/thick fir that area), and the other 2 suggested Restylane or Restylane silk - the silk being the doctor's preferred choice. So, ultimately I went with the doctor I trusted's opinion. She also suggested Belotero, as it lasts longer - but she did not think it was a great choice for the first time as it can result in extra swelling after the injection.

I am happy with my choice!

How long will the effect of the filler last?

She told me about 9 months as it is not in a place you move a lot. I am on month 4 and they look great.

You look GREAT! I am in the same position, I know I need it but I'm reluctant. During the time you waited for optimal results what happened? Was the bruising obvious? Curious about important functions/going to work. Thanks!

Thank you, Primland14. I did have a little bruising under my right eye (the deepest one) for a couple days but it wasn't terrible. It was right where glasses sit on the side of your nose. It happened because I bled where she injected pretty badly and she had to apply a lot of pressure. I am a redhead and bleed/bruise easily. I recommend a Friday appointment so work on Monday will have the least amount of puffiness/bruising. And ice a lot!

I will never go back. It was well worth it!

Also, it took the full 10 days to look great and I felt the best about them after two weeks!

Glad you had good result and you look gorgeous. I had the same thing done a few years back and it looked good also..but...I want to warn you that in about 1.5 or 2 years IF you develop a puffiness above your cheek, that resembles a festoon, to go back and see your doctor. I had this festoon like puffiness at the bottom of my orbital area/cheek and it looked terrible. A Dr. in Durham, NC injected a solution to get rid of the hyraluronic acid that had collected, seeped down into the high cheek. At first I didnt think it worked getting rid of the festoon but after a month, it was gone and hasnt come back. Again, hope that won't happen but if it does, there is hope. I did not believe at first that my original lower eye filler after all that time would do that but it did. Cheers.

I just had Restylane under my eyes and I bruised like crazy. I am on aspirin therapy so I expected that. I went back after 10 days and had another half of a vial injected under each eye because I wanted the best results and I am bruised again but the result is so obvious. It has been 5 days since the second set of injections. I am in my 50's and have VERY deep hollows and circles. I hope once these bruises go away, that I will have months of not being so embarrassed of my looks. Your results are wonderful.
