First Time Juvederm for Smile Lines and Top Lip - Columbus, OH
ORIGINAL POST
Before deciding to take the leap to get Juvederm,...
Before deciding to take the leap to get Juvederm, I was on this site, YouTube and researching all over the internet. I am 27 years old and was not happy with my deep smile lines and small upper lip. I am a very happy girl and smile ALL the time.
During the process:
Dr. Wakelin and Melissa answered all of my questions and asked me to explain what I was looking for in terms of the end result. I used two syringes of Juvederm XC - 1 1/2 for smile lines 1/2 for upper lip
The needle did not hurt as much as I was anticipating, only once or twice I actually winced. It hurts less than a bee sting or getting your ears pierced.
Later that evening:
I had minimal swelling and very slight bruising
Today (Day after):
Very minimal swelling and very slight bruising - Tad bit of make-up can completely cover
If you're thinking about it, DO IT! You won't regret it.

Also where did your dr inject in the lip?
I was injected 4 times in the lip - in the corners of lip right where the lips meet and each side toward the middle where the lips meet. I only had a pin point bruise on one injection site for the lip.
There was a girl on here who said she couldn't eat it drink for two days!! Was this your experience and how was it post procedure?
Anything you can share from your research about what to do or not do? I get it done in a week.

I only got my top lip injected. I was able to go home have dinner and I was able to drink water fine. Today is day two and I have no swelling at all and just slight bruises right at injection site. They are covered very easily with makeup.
Aftercare instructions: nothing. I literally did no massages no ice and slept normally.
I read a lot of different things but I'm sure that varies with the person injecting. So please follow their instructions.

Wow, you look amazing, thank you for sharing your experience!
Did you use numbing cream or a dental block?
No, Dr. Wakelin applied an ice pack to my lips for a few mins before he injected.
Looks SO good. Especially your naso folds! Totally erased. This is an awesome result. You look amazing. Stay with your MD. :D
Hey, also....let me ask... where did they actually inject for your smile lines? Was it directly in the lines, a little above, lower cheek-ish? I'm curious! I've heard of it being done different ways and whatever you're doing ...it's the right way. :)
Thank you!
Yes, he injected right on the lines.
