Cheaper Does Not Always Mean Better

Let me start by saying that his staff is amazing! Their pre-op and post op care is was spot on! But that's where it ended for me.
I'm sure he has probably done some successful surgeries and those are the best cases. But I'm fairly certain, the clients who have not been satisfied weren't done right. Understandable since their human too but it's the, "I stand behind my work, " that gets me! Some he have been able swindle more money out if or convince them of what he wanted them to believe. I'm just a person who works to hard for my money and you're just not going to tell me anything.
My research for a surgeon started over 2yrs ago. I knew that I wanted to travel out of the country because of the cheaper prices. This is something that I would soon regret. The procedures that were discussed were full tummytuck,Lipo to the lower back and flanks, thigh lift with lipo. I became worried at the 3mos post op mark. I noticed that the left side of my abdomen was mishapened. I sent pics as his staff asked me to and I was reassured that I still had a lot of more swelling and not to worry. Keep in mind that I had worn my garner as instructed. I had even began reg cardio. As I was approaching the 6mos, I still hadn't noticed the changes that I had expected and was told to expect. So again, as instructed, I sent the 6mos postop pics. The troubling part was now it had become difficult to reach Dr. Campbell. But after a wk or so, I would receive a call from his staff setting up a phone appointment with Dr. Campbell. The 1st phone call takes place. I express how unhappy I still was. He says that after reviewing the pics, he admits that he could have done better lipo on my back and lovehandles. Im like ok. Let's discuss how you can make this right. So he goes into his next plan for my revision surgery. He assures me that the price won't be anywhere near the original cost. At this point, I'm feeling optimistic.  His staff sends the quote. I wasn't ecstatic about the quote but I was like ok. But then as looked closer, it wasn't all of the procedures that we had discussed for the revision. I call him again and again, it takes a few days for me to get a return call after several attempts via email. Anyhow, he finally calls. When I addressed the how the quote wasn't what we discussed. He basically says ok. Again, at this point he's still very professional  and polite. He assures me that his staff would send me another quote. They did indeed. It was much higher. I was stunned! I sat and thought about it. My flight from Chicago to Colombia, room accommodation and food plus all of the surgery expenses,  I'm right back where I initially was with the 1st surgery as far as price. I tried to call but again, it was almost impossible so I sent him an email.  He finally responds after a few days. This time, the tone in his this email had taken a turn. He flat out said, I've decided not to do your surgery due to my expectations were unrealistic! He began giving all these excuses as to why he failed to perform. He even tried blaming it on me!  I was just stunned! Keep in mind, I went thru the phone consultation prior to ever leaving Chicago. I had the last face to face consultation the day before surgery. I was very clear in what I wanted. At no point and time, did he ever express any doubt with my expectations. In fact, he was very positive and reassuring that the procedures would get me my desired look. Oh boy, was I wrong in believing this doctor! At the least,  I thought that he would keep his word and stand behind his work. If at any point I had felt that he could not deliver on his end, there is absolutely no way that I would have taken 2wks vacation time, left my Family and flown to another country and put my body through this ordeal!!! If he would have just been honest, I would have just moved on to the next doc on My list.  My expectations weren't unrealistic when he took my payments! My advice to anyone who wants to pay less by traveling to another country,  go on referral only! If possible,  try to cobtact someone on RealSelf or sone other site that has actually used that surgeon. I based my choice on reviews only and I had to learn the
