2 week countdown:)
2 weeks away:)
I just got a call from Olga at Artlipo to go over my medical history & prescriptions. She said that my labs all came back fine and that we were good to go on the 16th:) She went over the basic info of what I can expect when I arrive and she confirmed the time that I should be there. As per instructions I am not supposed to take Ibuprofen, Naproxen, aspirin, herbal supplements, or any medications that may thin your blood two weeks prior to procedure as they could cause potential bleeding issues and/or worse bruising. Tylenol is the only listed medication for pain that I am supposed to use from this point on.
What I can expect:
I was instructed to wear something like a tank top and zip up hoodie/top that will be easy to put on after the procedure is done and the compression garment is in place. Any medications that have been prescribed will be sent from the pharmacy and will be in the office prior to my arrival. There will be antibiotics, nausea medication, pain & anxiety medication. When I get there I will be given an Ativan (anxiety medication) and will change into a bra type top that they provide and they will clean the upper portion of my chest and neck/chin/face where I will be havIng the liposuction done on. This is where she left off, so I will fill in everything that happens after that point after I have it done;)

18 More Days - Labs Completed
18 days out. I had my labs done today. The time frame to have them completed was 2 weeks prior, and/or no more than a month before the 16th. Feeling excited. I am not nervous or anxious about the procedure itself, but I am a little concerned about the overall outcome and final results. I will be awake and local anesthetic will be used in the areas that Dr. Hamwi will be performing liposuction on. I have had MANY surgeries in the past which were medically necessary, but this is the first time that I have ever chosen to do an elective procedure. I am cautiously optimistic at this point in time:)
Double Chin Lipo Experience From Beginning To End
After years of reading reviews on Realself I finally decided to have a procedure that I have put off for far too long. I hope that this might help someone in their decision making process, as well as overall journey should they decide to have chin lipo. So far I have submitted photos and gotten a free virtual consultation, scheduled my procedure for March 16 and placed a 20% deposit, filled out and submitted required paperwork and medical history forms. I have had a absolutely wonderful experience in dealing with Ashley at Artlipo in Tampa, Florida. She has been amazing! She has been kind, considerate, efficient, knowledgeable, and, so very patient. I am now 20 days away from my scheduled surgery date. The doctor that I have chosen to do my procedure is Dr. Hamwi. My end goal is to actually be comfortable enough with my appearance to have a family photo done (WILLINGLY Lol) I am so self conscious that I HATE having my picture taken!!! I hate that is bothers me so much, and I feel ridiculous for letting it effect me like it does. Nobody would ever guess just how badly it does. Since I had my daughter (She will be 21 in May) I have dealt with it, even though I ended up losing more weight than I gained. As time has gone by I have chunked up it has gotten way worse and I am becoming even more self conscious about it. Not only does it make me appear heavier than I am, it also contributes to making me feel and look much older. Mind you, I am not a spring chicken anymore haha. I just turned 50 and am afraid if I put it off any longer I will not be eligible for the lipo due to lack of skin elasticity that comes with age. Being a mom, I have put this off for as long as I could remember due to feeling guilty about spending the money on myself. I still feel VERY guilty, but I am sick of being so self conscious all of the time that I am biting the bullet and praying for a good outcome, one that will make me feel better about my physical appearance:) I really can’t believe that this is finally happening and I am starting to get a little anxious so well wishes & prayers are welcome:)) I know that this was more on the personal side, but this is a very personal decision for me and I just wanted to share the reason, the step by step process, and whatever details that I can provide for anyone considering lipo and dealing with the same type of situation;)) I will be more detail oriented concerning the procedure in future posts and will try to update as things move forward.
