I've chosen Dr. Maria LoTempio for my submental and jowl lipo / 'airsculpt' which I am getting done on Friday January 17th. I had consultations with 4 other doctors and decided on her because she was kind, to the point, and is a real person, not a salesperson or an overly fake frozen-faced surgeon like one doctor I consulted with. She is a board certified plastic surgeon as well as board certified for head & neck surgery which is exactly what I want as I am getting fat removed from my head and neck!
Dr. LoTempio has a five star rating on realself but no client photos, and not many on her social media either so I'm going to share some in order to help others make an informed decision.
I will note that I had some other questions after meeting with Dr. LoTempio so I emailed her and she sent me back some VERY concise answers, with some misspellings as well which was a slight turn off but not enough to change my mind, I am hoping she just isn't a computer person and was very busy so couldn't send a full response. She also has 5 star reviews on google and some videos on youtube so I've got my faith in her and am excited about the surgery.
Lastly, I've started taking Arnica homeopathic sublingual pills today as I'm 4 days out from surgery. Also taking CoQ-10 pills, fish oil, and a multivitamin.

Day 3
erose7January 19, 2020
Surgery went fine, Dr. Lotiempo joked with me a lot and was very funny, definitely put me at ease. I was quite groggy afterwards and slept when I got home, but stopped taking the pain medicine after the morning of Day 2.
Today is Day 3 since the surgery (I'm counting surgery day as Day 1 since I had it at 8am), I took the compression garment off temporarily for the first time. Dr. LoTempio has given me a call to check in the last couple days even though it's a holiday weekend, I'm very grateful for that. I have a lymphatic drainage session scheduled for Day 5. The fluid has stopped coming out behind the ears but the chin incision is still going.
I stopped taking fish oil 2 days prior to surgery per the clinic, Elite Body Sculpture, and now I'm taking Arnica, grapeseed extract, CoQ-10 pills, vitamin K2, and a multivitamin. I put a little topical arnica on my neck today as it's quite bruised. I also have been going for walks and making sure I do at least 6000 steps per day to keep the blood flowing. Thankfully it's winter and I can just go out wrapped up like Kenny from Southpark.

Bruising is getting much much better, incisions are all closed. I met with Dr. Lotiempo at Elite Body Sculpture for my one week checkup. She said that it looks good but now I need to start aggressively massaging my chin, the bottom part is definitely protruding and swollen despite the compression garment that I've worn about 20 hours a day for the last few days. I have been massaging every morning but she said 4x a day minimum. We made a one month appointment for February 13th and I'm really excited about how I'm going to look by then (even though I'm puffier today than 2 days ago)!

thank you. It's getting there slowly but surely. Seems like it had to take a couple steps back before I could go forward again, I wonder if others had this happen too.
