I went to Dr. Shah about 3 years ago for my first...

I went to Dr. Shah about 3 years ago for my first consultation. I found out about him after researching online and he seemed to have some pretty good reviews. I then decided against the procedure because my parents were not supportive and I was only 18 at the time. Well its now three years later and I have sense changed my mind (or I guess you could say the idea has never really left my mind). Rather than worry about what my family thinks, Ive decided that this is something that Im going to do for myself. So im hoping to go through with it this time!

I recently just visited the office for a second consultation this month and am considering the procedure in May. I have a slight nasal "bump" and he also said that I have a deviated septum. He said that fixing the tip is optional in my case...and he said that I can chose either an open or closed surgery. Im not sure what way would produce the best results, open or closed? Overall, im just super nervous about the whole process & want natural looking results. Im hoping to work up the courage to do this in May.. so we will see.

My biggest problem with getting this done is that I dont personally know anyone who has went to him (considering I live out of state). On the other hand, I have done a lot of research. I have reviewed his before and after pictures in his office and was also able to talk with two of his previous patients on the phone just the other day (& they were both very happy with their resutls). So that makes me a feel a little better. A few other things worth noting: Dr. Shah now charges a $100 consultation fee for your first visit, but it is deducted from the price of your surgery. In order to reserve a surgery date, a $500 payment is required, but after you pay the 100 consultation fee, you can just pay $400 to reserve the date. I believe the payment to Dr. Shah is due two weeks before the surgery and the facility fees are due the morning of the surgery. In regards to the follow up visits after the surgery, these are all included (such as getting the cast removed and possible steroid injections to make the swelling go down, ect.) In regards to the price, my quote for the surgery was $5,035 and this includes the rhinoplasty, septoplasty, facility and anesthesia fees.
