1 year and 1 month Post Surgery
I am now 1 year and 1 month since my surgery and I honestly wish I could go back and do it all again as it was the best experience! My only Regret was not doing this sooner in life! I wish i wasn't so scared of the surgery/recovery and I had done this before so that I could have been confident in my wedding photos and the woman in those photos resembled the woman I am today .
If your looking into surgery but are scared because of the confronting photos like I was, I'm here to tell you yes you do look like that the first 3 days after surgery but you do not feel the way you look, it is honestly just swelling and bruising of which there is NO PAIN, well in mine and my sisters case anyways. we had the best week post surgery and we always talk about how we wish we could go back and do it again.
As for DR Shahidi I cannot recommend him and his Beautiful team enough, book your consult and meet them for yourself I am glad I did!

Consult Complete... Surgery Booked!
I had my Consult with Dr Shaihidi and omg I just felt he was right for me straight away! His team were so beautiful and welcoming and put my nerves at ease! They explained pre and post op concerns, discussed pricing, hospital options and ask what my concerns were with my nose... I explained a massive part of why I was there was the look of it but that I was also there to fix my breathing problems and sense of smell... Dr Shaidi agreed I had a bulbous tip with bubbles either side and a slight crease behind my tip, he showed me that my nose was crooked as it does not meet with the centre of my front teeth and he put a camera up my nostrils to check on my breathing problems. Straight away he said that there was a problem and that he couldn't see how bad with the camera so he sent me to get a CT down the road and they took me straight in and 2 mins later I was back out... They are sending my results straight to Dr Shahidi. Hopefully it's not too bad! I have booked my surgery for July 11th and my sister coming. Along and she too is getting rhino-septoplasty done the same day :) I've attached he computer generated image that was made in the consult, let me know what you think? I wish they did one from the front as this has always been my main concern.

Computer generated photo of the front available? Two of the procedures you mention are for correcting septum and breathing. What is being done to correct your "button". Tks

I really wish there was :( I was actually going to email them today and ask as my 'Button' is my absolute main concern in terms of looks. I will let you know what they say and I will upload if he does produce one for me :) He was very honest about my Button Tip. I had shown him an image of what I would like to come out with after surgery (it was one of his past patients), and he was very honest with me in saying that her nose before surgery was very different to mine so although he can try and get me a similar result I need to know now that it will not be the same. He explained he will shave the cartilage on my tip to smooth out my bubbles either side but he also explained he can not over do this as i will have loose skin (he explained like when an obese person looses weight and they have excess skin), I asked why he couldn't just cut the excess skin off and he explained he could but I would be left with two scars on my tip either side. he did assure me the tip will be smoother and the bubble way less noticeable but he just wanted me to understand that there is only so much a surgeon could do and wanted me to know this before going into surgery. Another reason why i know he is right for me because of his honesty :)

Yes I get that. And thank you for sharing. Dr. Toby PInnock is also getting good reviews on the site so it's difficult to know where to turn. Best wishes.

It was a very hard decision but after meeting Dr Shahidi in person I just felt he was right for me :) my surgery is 13 days away eeek ! Have you decided on a surgeon yet ?

I wouldn't be too worried about the computer results. Ultimately, your surgeon will have your best interests and concerns when he is operating on you. My results were very different than my computer projected ones. The side profile is easy to show because it's a simple straighten of the hump or to give a slight slope. But the front is really only an estimation of what he'll be able to do because the apps only have so much ability. I wish you the best of luck and patience. You've made a wonderful decision. My tip was bulbous similar to yours and it drove me crazy. I hope you'll love your results as much as I love mine!

Two more before photos showing what I hate about my nose..... The Tip I am really really self conscious about my bulbous tip! Only Six more sleeps until I have my consult with Dr Shahidi... I'm scheduled March 22nd ??

I am still awaiting my results, BUT.... I have booked my Surgery for Septo/Rhinplasty for July 11th 2016 :) I'll post my computer generated picks also!

I am still awaiting my results, BUT.... I have booked my Surgery for Septo/Rhinplasty for July 11th 2016 :) Ill post my computer generated picks also!
There are 3 seperate costs involved, Dr SHahidi's fee, the anesthetist costs, and the day surgery costs. All up it is approx $14.5K. and you get rebates from both medicare and private health (if you have and if there is medical reasons for the surgery). I think i worked out (sorry I don't have the details on me) that I am getting approx $1200 back from Medicare and I am yet to contact my private health to see what I can back from them also. Hope this helped :)
