5 month Update....

Sometime time just flies....thanks to everyone for requests for updates as I recall how important these were when I was researching! So 5 months later since thigh lift and fully back to myself, even running. We just got back from our 1st Vac in Kauai and never in my life would have imagined standing confidently in a bikini on a Hawaiian island - but I was!
Physically I almost don’t ever remember the ugly extra skin and rashes. That said, overall pleased and no regrets but do be aware recovery is tough and it hurts! I recall at points wondering if I was going to be able to sit on a toilet normally - ha! (and yes I do now for those wondering!) I still do have some deep pain sometimes at incision lines and some lingering intermittent pain below buttock scars. In addition, fair to call out I did end up with some very slight labial spreading on left side, but not deformative at all nor painful in any way - just makes me slightly more aware of my lady bits!!
What a journey this has been, over 100 lb loss maintained now 2.5 years and excess skin gone. Am I perfect? Nope... but confident, happy, sexy and can wear pretty much anything I want. I turn heads which is nice, but more importantly I am strong, healthy and the best version of myself for the first time in my life at 46! To those of you wondering if it was worth it, Absolutely!!!

Time flies

How fast it goes and certainly am due for an update with new pics. Overall feeling good, very little swelling and scars settling. We’re headed out of town for a long weekend and then to Kauai in 12 days! I’ll try to post some new pics next week.

2.5 wks post op

How time flies and facing going back to work the day after tomorrow. I’m super nervous about this as I still can’t sit normally and I certainly can’t stand for a full work day either (despite that I normally have a standing desk). I’m working out now some FMLA intermittently so I can adjust my work day as needed, but goal is to make it 4.5-5 hrs each day this week. I lull myself into a “I can do this” then make it home for rest and pain meds if need be. I’m currently only using Tylenol and the muscle relaxer now and can manage the roughly “3” on a pain scale with this regime. Guess Monday will tell! In helping myself “see” I’ve added a few before and afters. While my swelling is mild, it’s hard to see my final “after” yet but these do show a good overall improvement!

Provider Review

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
610 50th Street SE, Charleston, West Virginia

Dr. B is an artist and I dare say part of the family! The sheer fact that he provides his personal phone number is always available for anything that should arise is a testament to his rare dedication as a Doctor and certainly something you hardly find these days. I will never forget that on Easter weekend last year that he called to see how I was! He is a true gem and there’s no one else I’d trust more.
