I've considered this surgery for at least 3 yrs - ready to live without belly blues and overcoming repeat start and stops in exercise and healthy lifestyle because I don't see the results. Met with Dr Pratt and his team at the Refine Institute several weeks ago, inquiring about lipo only. I did further research and referred a friend. She booked her procedure immediately and I saw first hand her recovery and results. Dr. Pratt and his team have been great so far and I felt very comfortable with his recommendations to make sure I get the best result.
I am 10 days pre-op making prep for the big day and healing process. Learned alot from the experiences on this site and want to pay it forward.
In addition to pre-op protocol I've scheduled lymphatic massage appts to help with fluid drainage - 2 before and expect 3-4 after. Hearing this helps recovery tremendously. Moved post op clothes - mostly loose button down tops and night shirts to downstairs closet as I will be living downstairs. Put bags of books, crocheting and suduko puzzles together. As a fairly active person, needed to plan for sitting for long periods. Also getting the portable commode for over toilet due to my height. Hear this eliminates pain of squatting. Also bought my 1st bikini on clearance. ???? Love the color and will use for my post op comparisons.
Emotions are up and down but I am excited I've made a decision to improve myself, for myself. Next week and 1/2 will be preparing family and house as much as I can so I can allow loved ones to care for me after surgery.

Good luck! Sounds like you've prepared. I had mine awhile back. Definitely went thru a couple days of regret but they passed very quickly and now so happy I did it

Geeesh I know I'm still doing las minute deals (Real Estate Agent) haven't prepare as much as you it seems . I will prepare the kids school clothes for a week and little things like that but for me he only thing I've bought was a "go girl " device which allows to pee standing up and done arnica pills haven't had any Massages done or anything like that. I know I'll probably pay for this latter not preparing a little more but I honestly don't know what else I may need so I'm going to just have to have my friend be my runner for things I may need post surgery

You will be fine. I know someone who didn't prepare and was fine. We will be in the same physical place on Thursday.

Thankful

I'm 5 days pre-op and I'm grateful for the opportunity and ability to do this procedure. Feeling like after the recovery I will have a body that matches who I am. My belly has always made me self conscience and held me back. It will be work to reach my other fitness goals but 2018 will be the year I get it done! I have checked and challenged my decision to have this surgery many times over to make sure I know my motivations. Today I am confident that Now is the time... I am in a healthy state of mind, thankful and know that God is with me, I am loved, lovable, and am already enough. This surgery will help me shed years of stress and fear induced weight in my abdomen. It is a way of me demonstrating that I can let go of past hurts and move boldly and confidently into the future God has for me. I am no longer afraid to live and have done several things this year to demonstrate that to myself - like taking a solo cruise in Europe when a friend backed out of the trip - and had an amazing time! What I have learned is fear is necessary at times, but it must break way to joy! I am thankful for a healthy body and am praying and believing I will have a healthy recovery.

Its 2 days before my surgery and I'm good emotionally. Have a couple of things left to buy - I hear using a bag of frozen peas are good for managing the swelling post op and placing a shower curtain under your sheets to protect your furniture is also a good idea. I am scheduled for a lymphatic massage tomorrow. The first one made me sleep like a baby so I'm looking forward to it. Gonna take an epsom salt bath tonight to relax after doing my running around. Taking miralax today and tomorrow and drinking lots of water too.
