I am equal parts ecstatic and petrified that my breast augmentation surgery is 3 weeks away now. I never thought I would do this, but after experiencing the toll having babies has done to my body, at this point I feel the risks don't outweigh the depression I would face going through the rest of my life so unhappy! I am 34 and done having kids. I'm ready to do me!So, I scheduled surgery with a very respected PS for 4/29 and am getting silicone implants under the muscle. I will have a pre-op call with him next week to determine size and address questions butI feel so unprepared. I weight 115 lbs. and am 5'5. I have a lanky, runner's body and a short torso and don't want everyone in the world to think I look "fake" after my surgery. I want my husband and I to be happy with my new chest but otherwise don't want to feel self-conscious around neighbors, etc. by going too big. At the same time, I keep reading that women regret not going bigger, so I'm trying to remain level-headed about it all. I've tried the rice sizers a bit.. I think 1.5 cups looks "normal" on me, my husband thinks 2 cups is best. Still hard to tell! If anyone has any advice or thoughts for me, I am all ears! Thank you!P.S. I am also nervous about recovery.. My son's First Communion is 3 days post-surgery. I'll have help and won't need to lift the baby, but I need to be well enough to get dressed and go out in public! Am I crazy thinking I'll be able to do this??

I'm still waiting!

Was told to arrive at 11:30am for my BA surgery today. It is now 1:10pm and I feel like everyone is eating lunch and no one cares I was supposed to have surgery already! I am STARVING since I was told no food or drinks since last night. Getting so frustrated- not how I want to be feeling before something like this! Sorry, just needed to vent. :(

Oh no!!! That's crazy! They were running late for me to then they stuck me in a bathroom for like a hour and I didn't have my phone or anything I herd them out there talking and carrying on!
I hope everything went well for you!

Lol we were in that bathroom for an hour too!! Not the waiting room I would expect from a top doc! Thanks so much for checking in. I was really nauseous after which I didn't think I would be. I finally kept some food down and think it went away. You weren't kidding about the tight bra!!! It's going to be a loooong night! Already can't wait for my appt tomorrow so he will loosen everything a bit!!

April 29, 2016
Yeah!!! It's a weird feeling it's like half the bra half your skin!! I was annoyed with the bathroom bc I didn't have my phone or anything! Literally sat there staring at the walls! I'm glad your feeling better!!! Let me know how they look tom! Sleep well! Your on the other side!!!!

I was in the bathroom waiting room for a while too and I was STARVING so I just kinda dozed off. This wrap thing is so tight it's ridiculous...even after they loosened it today. Taking it off tmr to get a shower, finally!!! We are supposed to leave the steri strips on right, until they fall off?

Ugh I feel like this wrap is crushing the top of my ribcage too. Seriously counting down the hours to it getting loosened! Bummed to bearcat still sucks after they do it. Did you see Dr. S in the bathroom visit or just a nurse?? Did you get your surgery yesterday?? I feel like I know nothing and was told nothing so no clue about steel strips but i will definitely ask at my appointment tomorrow and let you know what they say!

I was also in the bathroom! I thought I was the only one who thought it was weird. Luckily I had my phone! I was in there for about an hr. And I felt like I was rush right out after I woke up from anesthesia! And next day post op was also in the bathroom. Hope all you ladies are healing well!

We definitely thought it was weird too. My hubby looked up and noticed the a/c vent was covered in dark dust and looked gross. Not the type of thing I wanted to stare at before getting cut into! And I had the exact same experience as you after anesthesia!! I could barely keep my eyes open and all the sudden I was getting pushed through the back door into my hubby's car. It seriously felt shady to me and was definitely not what I was expecting! I know the staff does these surgeries all the time and it's no big deal to them but I am definitely shocked at how little "care" and conversation was given to me as the patient.

I had my surgery on the 19th. I've been feeling better then expected. Thank you.

The steri strips stay on for a week when you take them off make sure they are really wet! I submerged them in the tub as I was taking them off! As far as being rushed out after surgery unfortunately that's how all drs do it. I've had 3 other surgeries and actually before I even open my eyes they are wheeling me out. Idk the reasoning behind this I think time moves faster then we think when we are waking up.
Feel better ladies and good luck if you have any questions you can ask me or text him! He actually texted me yesterday I'm 2 weeks post op today to see how I'm feeling.

Good know about your experience after anesthesia. Didn't realize that was the normal procedure!

One day post-op

Just returned from my first post-op visit. I was seen right away which was a relief. She called In an RX for me to help me stop throwing up. Praying it works ASAP! She unwrapped me which felt really good, then re-wrapped but a little looser. Here are my pics, first time I've seen them since surgery. I think the side looks great but from the front they look deformed and totally different from one another! Not getting upset about that though because I know that it's normal and they'll even out as they drop.

Now that I think about it....I think I did see only Vicky! But they gave me anti-nausea meds when I left the day of the surgery, I don't need them so if you need mine you're more than welcome to have them!

Thank you! So nice of you! I left with the Zofran too but it didn't work for me. So today they prescribed Phenergan and now I feel like a new person. Woohoo!! I've actually slept and kept down two pieces of pizza with no problem. So wish I had this stronger stuff yesterday but oh well!
