After developing capsular contractor 10 years after my first breast augmentation I decided to go to dr Lim to ask what my options were. He told me he would change implant position and change implants from smooth to textured. All these things should help for capsular contracture to not reoccur again. He was very informative. I am very happy with the results. He was very careful with after care making sure everything was ok. His nurse was beautiful too. No complaints

Congratulations...you look great! Did you also take any medication post op to help ward off CC again? What size textured implants did you get? Thank you for sharing your helpful experience with us on RealSelf!

Hello, so pleased your implant exchange went well. I have the same op scheduled for February. Where you advised to go for slightly larger implants? I have, as my surgeon has said there will be a bigger pocket once the capsule has been removed. How has your recovery been?

Yes I went from a 300cc to 400cc. The doctor said 100cc wasn't going to make a huge difference just a bit fuller. Because my old implants had rises higher up my chest it was advise I go bigger. My doctor also made me leave tubes in for a week to stop any blood building up behind implants It was a pain carrying them around but a least it made me slow down a recover. The one that had capsular contracture was a lot sorer as he obviously did more work on that side but 10 weeks later and they feel good. My doctor was fantastic even my scars are better this time.. I thinks that's the difference between having a plastics surgeon this time. My implants weren't high either like the first time. They do look different to the first time but very happy.

I didn't have any different medication. Was the same as last time. My surgeon didn't think it would make any difference. The medication that r prescribed to help capsular contracture have not been scientifically proven. And I only had pain killers for one day. Not really fond of pills.

Hi Sharon, thank you for your reply. Do you h,ave overs or unders? I currently have 200 cc over the muscle and they are now very tennis ball like due to the capsular contraction. My surgeon has suggested 270 or 300 cc, again over the muscle but I'm worried about looking too big as I'm only 5'4" and 110 lbs. what up size did you end up with? Best wishes.

My surgeon believes changing the position and changing implants to textured is important if u have had capsular contracture. My implants were in front of the muscle they r now behind the muscle, and changed from smooth to textured. If u have no breast tissue it is definately better to have them behind the muscle anyway.. I am only 5'1" and had 300cc for 10yrs which was D. I now have 400cc which has made me DD. So not much more. I think u could easily go 300cc. Do u think your 200 were too small.?? If so go 300cc or even bigger. U r taller than me so u could easily take that size.

Thank you so much for your reply, it's really helpful. I'm currently a B which I'm quite happy with as I'm quite petite so 300cc would take me to a C probably which I think is the largest I could take. I've been given the impression that the 270 might leave me looking a but saggy ( I did breastfeed both kids till they were two so have slight ptosis). Did your surgeon say the same to you? He wants to reuse the same pocket over the muscle for some reason, maybe because I'm very active. Any advice is very appreciated!

I have more like tubular breast so mine where never going to be saggy because there was no under breast tissue there to sag. I am very active and exercise 5 days a week and the surgeon still told me behind the muscle. I posted on real self before I had my surgery as to see what other doctors suggested about my capsular contracture and why it happened so late all the doctor that answered suggested changing the positioning of the implants. If u can find my other post on real self u can see what the other doctors said. Are u getting round and textured too??
