Bad Otoplasty

Let’s get started on this review. I’m a 22 year old male that went to Marco Carmona for otoplasty in April 2018. He greeted me and told me he had a very busy schedule for the rest of the day. He explained the process and the surgery technique. I asked if the stitches were the dissolving kind and he told me they were.
The surgery was very fast and only lasted about 30-40minutes. (From what I’ve read, American surgeons take a lot longer).
He gave me some medication that was very low strength, but I’m very pain tolerant so no big deal there right?
Anyways I rested in my hotel for a couple days before I went home.
Once I arrived home this little bump on my left ear popped up from a stitch popping out or something I have no idea so I emailed Dr Marcos assistant and she told me not too worry that it wasn’t infected.
So I let my ears heal for a couple more weeks expecting the stitches to dissolve, and they don’t. So I email Dr Marcos assistant again asking why my stitches aren’t dissolving.. then she replied saying they WERE NOT the dissolvable kind and I needed to get them removed immediately.
So I’m like wow, the doctor told me they were dissolvable, did he lie to me?
So I head to an urgent care clinic and thankfully after much explaining they removed the stitches for me.
Now it’s been 2 months since surgery and 5 weeks since I had the stitches removed and the scars are still very noticeable and the little bump on my left ear is still there but smaller.
I expect them to heal more overtime.
My advice is, if your thinking about getting otoplasty, get it done by a plastic surgeon close to where you live. They might cost slightly more, but they might use a better technique and be slightly more professional.
