I've hated my nose my whole life. It stuck out too...

I've hated my nose my whole life. It stuck out too far, had a little bump, was too wide and was a little crooked (imagine a stereotypical big European nose). I decided the money was worth it and after a lot of research I made the decision to get the surgery. I'm so happy with everything about my experience. My new nose is exactly what I wanted it to be. It still suits my face and looks very natural. My new nose doesn't stick out as much, no longer has a bump, has a narrow bridge, a smaller tip, and is no longer crooked. I also got my slightly deviated septum repaired.

There was also an unexpected surprise!!! I've always struggled with acne growing up and tried anything and everything. Turns out I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to a lot of the topical interventions. I eventually gave up on solving my skin issues and thought I would have acne forever. During my consultation, Dr Zahkary mentioned my acne and wanted to make sure my skin was healthy in orderto help with my recovery. She prescribed an oral medication that I started taking in the months prior to the surgery. I didn't notice a change at any point because it was so gradual, but I was never really looking to hard. A couple months after my surgery, Dr. Zakhary sent me before and after photos of my nose. I was very pleasantly surprised that in addition to my nose being exactly how I wanted it, my skin had completely cleared up!! It was like night and day.

This has been an amazing experience and I would not change one thing about it!

As a side note, there was a bit of a wait time at her office ... but seriously, what office doesn't have a wait time nowadays? I only mention it now in order to tell you to calm down and take a minute to think about why you might be waiting! The only reason there is a bit of a wait time is because she makes sure she doesn't leave until everything has been properly addressed (at least that's been my experience). Wouldn't you want her to pay you that same courtesy?

I chose my doctor based on research, online reviews, and seeing amazing results firsthand (my friend also had rhinoplasty). I definitely made the right decision. Dr. Zakhary is brilliant, realistic, honest, upfront, caring, and a bit of a perfectionist (the good kind!). She answers every question you have and explains everything in a way that's easy to understand. She walks her patient's through everything from the consultation to the follow up appointments. Here's an example of how amazing she is: I have a fear of needles and a fear of general anesthetic, which Dr. Zakhary knew about. As I was on the OR table on the day of the surgery when the anesthesiologist was starting my IV and putting me to sleep, Dr. Zakhary was holding my hand and talking me through it. That simple gesture meant so much to me and helped me cope with my fears.
