Recovery Days - Sept 1 and Sept 2
Still doing pretty good. Eating normal food. I got nauseated once and puked up half a Vietnamese sub but it could have been the sub - it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had.
I am still taking the meds according to the schedule and I’m still on the pain meds because the sides of my hips and my upper rear are still tender. My pain level has not gotten pass 8. It has gone a little lower but not higher than that.
I did notice today that some stretch marks are starting to form along with some bruising on the sides and my butt area. We started using bio oil stretch mark cream, articare cream for the bruising and swelling plus the polysprorin to use one the scars. Better safe than sorry. I am also still icing the area it’s bags of corns to elevate some of the swelling.
Other thing I noticed is that when I feel like I have to pee, I have to hustle to the bathroom. A couple times I took a little too long and couldn’t hold it and peed on the way to the bathroom. My fiancé’ thought it was hilarious until he was the one who had to clean it haha now that was hilarious.
Bending is a little difficult and picking up anything off the floor just isn’t an option right now. I do need a little bit of help getting up and down from the couch but because I expected the pain to be a million times worse, it’s really not bad. Overall my recovery up until now has been positive and completely bearable. The plane ride home I something I am more concerned with but it’s still 3 days away, so that lots of time to figure out which method will help make it more enjoyable!

Surgery day (Thursday - Aug 30) to Friday (Aug 31)
August 30, 2018. We arrived at 7 in the morning. Glasses. No makeup. No hairspray. All natural - redness and all hah
Spoke with the anesthesiologist - wonderful sense of humour. Nurses were wonderful and kind. Dr. Stanton arrived and we went over what I’m going to feel like after and answered all my additional questions. I felt comfortable going into. Kissed my hubby and was escorted to the surgery room. IV was hooked up and before I knew it, I was out- 8:00am. I woke up on my belly in the recovery area - 10:30am. My hubby was sitting there when I opened my eyes. We chatted with the nurse for a few minutes and I felt good enough to leave and go to the hotel. We rented a Lexus NXT200 and had the seats folded so I could lie on my belly on the way to the hotel. Worked perfectly.
I immediately crawled into bed. I was still stoned from the surgery but I wasnt I’m too much pain. More tightness than anything. I passed out for a good 4 hours and woke up to pee and take some meds.
For peeing, I had saw online there was this tool you could buy the helps with peeing while standing. I couldnt justify that soooo I took an empty water bottle, cut the flat part off and boom! My tool to pee and stand the same time.
I took a few pictures, ate a little bit my got comfy to lie on my belly.
Dr. Stanton called and checked up on me which I thought was awesome. I was feeling fairly good with no complaints.
I didnt have any drainage bags to worry about, so it was basically watching how I sit and lie down with not messing with my stitches.
Day before Surgery with Dr. Stanton
August 29, 2018- We flew in Canada in the morning and had our consult in the afternoon.
We originally had an airbnb booked for 8 days in Venice. The place ended up being disgusting and dirty. We canceled it and booked Montrose Hotel in West Hollywood. It was closed to Dr. Stanton’s office.
I met with Mindy (just as nice as on the phone) and went over the steps. Picked up the meds from the pharmacy. Costed round $400usd. We ate dinner, went back to your room, and got prepared for the next day.
Honestly, I read a lot of reviews on what they felt like after the surgery. Lots and I mean LOTS of reviewers said the pain and nausea was horrible. I bought everything and anything I could to be prepared for it!
