Hi! I was pretty set on doing 2-3 rounds of Fraxel Dual (Dr. Eric Bernstein - Mainline Center for Laser Surgery) for my acne scarring, but after reading so many negative reviews on here, I am scared. I am mostly scared of my skin texture permanently changing for the worse (even though the laser is supposed to make it better). I was thinking about doing Microneedling instead, possibly PRP? What about with ultrasound? Can anyone comment on this as I am just starting to look into this procedure? Would Microneedling help my scarring (see attached pictures)? How many sessions before I would see improvement?
I am not concerned about cost and only want the most reputable doctor to perform this procedure. Should I go to a plastic surgeon or dermatologist? Any recommendations in southeastern PA? I would never try this procedure on myself.
Thanks for your thoughts!

I think your skin is gorgeous. Sometimes doing nothing is best:) I had fraxel and now have orange peel like texture. Have you tried Retin-A or something less aggressive? A light chemical peel? I would always choose a double-board certified plastic surgeon:)

Thank you for your kind words. I have tried Retin-A and chemical peels, but during the time when my acne was really bad. I think my scarring is probably too bad for these things to be effective. :(

Your pictures would suggest otherwise:) I've had microlaser peels in the past which I feel in the hands of a compentent doctor at a low micron depth with good skin preparation are safe and Obagi Blue peels. However; Fraxel I've had caused an orange peel like pattern which really never left.

I have had laser and used microneedling and a derma pen. I would Not recommend the laser as it changes the color of the skin. I had the laser treatment-a series of 5--over 6 months and the redness is still there (faint now) after 2 years. Beware the laser. Dermapens and micro-needling work awesomely on acne scars. Just be diligent in using them or go to a doctor's office or medspa for treatment. They can be quite aggressive treatments and have excellent results. Best wishes. I know how trying scars can be. I even bought my own dermapen on Amazon for around 150. Well worth it!

Thank you for comment! I plan to head in the medical microneedling direction.

Could you attach the link where you bought the deems pen from Amazon? Did you use numbing cream with it at home? What setting do you use, and how long did you wait between treatments? Thank you!!!

There are a ton of micro needling devices (derma skin rollers) on amazon. They are not even hard to search for.

Your scars are pretty mild. I wouldn't do fraxel. Just one session gave me an orange peel texture in some areas, that is still present 2 years later. Microneedling (at least 6 sessions) will help but don't expect a major miracle. There's also subcision, TCA cross and dermabrasion (not microdermabrasion) to consider.

Thank you for your kind words. I am planning to do Microneedling with RF, the INFINI treatment. I am not expecting a miracle, but I am expecting dramatic results from what I've read and seen! Thank you so much for your comment!!
