A Weight off my Chest and a Dream Come True!

I’ve dreamed of having a breast reduction for almost 20 years. I’m from the U.K., and it’s very difficult to get this procedure done on the NHS. I was finally fortunate to have my treatment approved by my medical insurance here in Singapore, and my consultant (Dr Jendana from Thee Specialist Breast Clinic) referred me to Dr Chia at SW1 Clinic. Since I work in Singapore, away from my family, you can imagine how daunting it is to face the prospect of placing your body and your life into the hands of professionals you don’t know, without the support of family. I was put at ease by the ambience of the SW1 Clinic. It felt professional, clean, and with attention to detail. I was very nervous meeting Dr Chia, because you never know if doctors will take you seriously, or if my concerns would be fully addressed. However, like many others have said, Dr Chia made me feel completely at ease, despite the vulnerability that consultations and surgery comes with. I found her patient and attentive to my concerns and queries, and communication with her team via WhatsApp was very helpful. I know my procedure would have been tricky since I was on the larger side for breast reductions (J-cup) but I felt the team Dr Chia worked with (Dr Jendana from The Specialist Breast Clinic, and Dr Paul Wong my anaesthetist) were incredible, literally a dream team! I felt so upbeat and positive having them come to check on me just before going into theatre, and the moments leading up to the anaesthesia I could tell I was in good hands with the whole medical team. They worked tireless for about 5.5 hours, I believe, and removed a whopping 3.1kg off my chest. I cannot thank Dr Chia and her team enough for leading me through this procedure and the unwavering care and support I’ve received from pre-op consultations, through the long surgery, and the post-op care during my hospital recovery and post-op consultations. I’m only 1-week post op, but I still can’t believe I’ve had such a smooth, successful experience with results that definitely satisfy, and improve my quality of life way beyond my imagination (I’m roughly around a D-cup now). I’m so pleased and so grateful to Dr Chia and her whole team!
