Life-Changing Breast Reduction
I originally heard about Dr. Irena Karanetz through a referral from my OBGYN, so I already knew I would be in great hands. Little did I know how much Dr. Karanetz would change my life!
Ever since high school, I've always had larger breasts, and as I got older, the literal weight became a lot to bear. This type of surgery had been on my mind for a good eight years, and at 30 years old, I decided I was ready to take the necessary steps to get the information I needed to proceed.
First, I had a consultation with Dr. Karanetz, and from that moment, I was excited to move forward with the breast reduction. On the day of surgery, I felt anxious, nervous, and excited, as with any surgery. However, as soon as I saw Dr. Karanetz, my mind was at ease. Her incredible depth of knowledge made me feel relaxed and confident that I would be okay.
Recovery was more challenging than I had anticipated, but I tend to take more time to heal than the average person. After each post-op appointment, Dr. Karanetz took the time to answer all my questions and provided me with the necessary post-op care and resources.
It is now four months post-surgery, and I am absolutely over the moon ecstatic. This is hands down the best decision I have ever made. Here are some of the benefits I’ve experienced:
1. Elevated Back Pain: My back pain has subsided, and my posture has even improved.
2. Reduced Bra Strap Marks: With the reduction in breast size, I've noticed a significant decrease in bra strap marks, which has added to my overall comfort and well-being. Even with well-fitted Wacoal bras, the marks would always be there.
3. Physical Health: I thought I would never be a runner, but after the literal weight was lifted off my chest, I can truly say I enjoy running.

My new breasts are perfect for my body and are actually proportionate. Dr. Karanetz skillfully navigated the challenges posed by my dense breast tissue, ensuring optimal results tailored to my unique needs and anatomy. I also have sensation in both nipples. This was something I considered as I have not had children yet, but wanted to take charge of my own health first. I was not breast-fed, so it was not a huge issue for me. Same with any scarring—I am okay with it, and I am healing remarkably well all around, so I could not be happier.
