Let me start this by saying that I am a plus sized woman. I tried for years to lose weight to make the boobs and pain go away. The problem is.. you can’t really work out effectively with 40j breasts bouncing around everywhere. I’m currently 9 days post op (photos are from 7 days) and I’m okay. I didn’t need drains which was nice and I was not put into a post op bra. I was told that I didn’t need to wear one unless I wanted to. I really do want to because it feels odd to just free-nipple all day and 9 days later I still have some leakage from the incision on my left side. It’s a nuisance more than anything. The PA said it’s normal so I’ll wait it out for 4 days until my two week appointment. I’m struggling with how they look but attempting to keep an open mind since I know it’s early. I didn’t have a big issue with pain but I’m scared to do any rigorous twisting. I took my first non assisted shower this morning and it was okay but that left side did start leaking again so I’m afraid I turned too sharply. Also afraid my nipples will never be sisters again... I really hope that’s not the case. Is anyone else struggling with feeling more weak than usual? I spiked a fever of 101 and 100 on days 3 and 8 but they went down quickly with cold packs and ice water. PA says that’s normal too. Keeping an open mind and praying that I (at least emotionally) feel better soon)

Compromised blood flow (complication)
So I had my two week appointment (actually it’s been 13 days) and it didn’t go too hot. The incisions are healing well and no infection, but my left nipple is having trouble getting blood. In my previous photos you can see the dark area on the left nipple. It’s now spread a bit. The ps said that at this point he can’t tell if the nipple will recover or continue to deteriorate. He did put a patch on the major vein that supplies blood to the nipple to open the veins further and promote more flow. I’m scared. But I know that whatever happens I’ll be okay. Good thoughts and positive vibes.

Nips nips everywhere!!
Just left the PS office. He and the PA agreed that the nipple is doing much better. I agree! It’s healing and peeling. I’ll probably look like a burn victim for a while until it heals completely but I’m okay with that! The PS cracked a joke about “vindicating him” on real self.... so let me proceed to vindicate... DR. PECUNIA IS A FANTASTIC SURGEON! I’m not saying that because he cracked a joke. I’m saying that because it’s true. I have never doubted his skills only my body’s ability to bounce back considering my weight and chest size. I shopped around with a few PS before I settled on him and I chose him because I felt that he was the best person to help me. Choose your PS wisely. I’m glad I did.
