10 weeks post op
Had my 10 week post op check up - usually would be signed off by week 6 but I think Mark wanted to keep an eye on the areas of delayed healing. Since this appointment I developed spitting stitches in both breasts. One on the initial area of irritation on my right breast and the other on the vertical incision on my left. Spitting stitches is very common and I am not surprised by this given the delayed healing in one breast. I have taken two courses of antibiotics and will get another to support the healing. The wounds are quite scary but I know they will heal with proper care. Mark and Chrissy continue to support with any ongoing issues. I will escalate any issues to Mark if I feel they are an emergency.
5 weeks post-op
Just wanted to give an update to my below post on the delayed healing.
I have had two more appointments with Mark to check the wound and I also had a week of antibiotics. The wound has now healed over and I am going to apply scar cream twice a day. I am concerned that my nipples will look a bit off with the scar on my nipple but to be honest that would be a minor inconvenience. I am so happy with how they look and I feel so much happier. It has been really hot here recently and it’s been a relief not to be wearing a thick underwire bra. The surgical bra is so comfy I am going to continue wearing it.
The picture shows the healing scars from the reaction I had to the stitches. It is getting smaller and I will apply scar tape to help it heal and fade.

Slower healing on right breast
Slower healing on the right breast. Sent the below two pics to Mark’s PA (Chrissy) as I was worried about the white spot under the nipple and the open sore. I’m pretty sure this is what was bleeding before I had my tapes off. Chrissy quickly got an appointment for me and I am going to see Mark today. To be fair the sore bits do look better today (this is 4 days after the below pictures were taken) I have been applying sudocrem in the day with gauze on top. At night I cut an Inadine dressing to size and placed gauze on top inside my surgical bra. I think Mark may give me a short course of antibiotics just to be on the safe side but I am okay with the wound now. As a disclaimer, the pics below were taken just after removing the surgical tape Mark applied at my 2 week appointment so I guess would naturally look a bit wet and sore as pulling off the tape removed the scabs.
