Mommy Makeover and More

Hi- My name is Jen and I have been a patient of Dr. Trupiano’s now for 2 years. I have had the following procedures done during this time:
1. A breast lift with “lollipop” incision and silicone implants
2. A tummy tuck to remove excess skin from having 2 babies as well as correct my umbilical hernia (also from having two babies)
3. A scar revision on my abdomen
4. Liposuction of my jawline and “double chin”
5. Restalyne filler in my cheeks and under my eyes
6. Quarterly botox injections for my frown lines
Here is what I can share from my experience and perspective:
Originally, when I was shopping for my “mommy makeover” I wanted to get 3 solid consultations/quotes before I made my decision. I did quite a bit of research on the procedures themselves, learned about why 2-for-1 discount surgery is not what it is cracked up to be (They typically use retired surgeons and other methods to cut costs and therefore give unsafe procedures and/or aftercare) and get a ballpark of pricing from some recent recipients of the surgeries I was looking for. Then I went to Google doctors and selected 3 practices, to include Dr. Trupiano’s. (I am not going to disclose who the other two practices were, but I will describe to you why I did not select these practices.)
Let’s talk about waiting rooms and support staff. I know this sounds weird to some of you, but these speak volumes to me. At one waiting room at a prominent practice in Troy I was greeted appropriately at my consultation and the waiting room was fairly standard with a flat screen TV and some reading materials on surgical and non-surgical options on procedures they offered. Nothing to complain about really; just standard. The staff was pretty emotionally cold and I felt like I took 1000 nude pictures before I got to see the doctor. To be honest, the doctor was kind of a dick. He treated me like a number, was not really personable at all. He kept trying to ask me who else I would be seeing for consults and when I finally gave up the names of some practices I was thinking about visiting, he started to badmouth them. That was 2 strikes for me. The 3rd strike was when I was taken to a large boardroom afterwards and given a heavy sales pitch with a saleswoman and a financial advisor trying to get me to sign then and there. Strike 3. I couldn’t run out of there fast enough.
The 2nd practice I visited in Bloomfield Hills was completely RIDICULOUS. A MASSIVE combination showcase/storage cabinet of cosmeceuticals, a working PORCELAIN FOUNTAIN, materials everywhere, and it was packed to the walls with waiting patients. After 45 minutes of waiting after my appointment time, I had to leave soon so I notified the staff that I would not be staying for my consult. They then seemed to care about my slightly more and within 10 minutes rushed me into a hurried consult with a saleswoman, (still haven’t seen the doctor at this point) and out of exasperation and desire to get a price out of these people for my time investment I showed this woman my breasts and stomach. She took another 30 minutes to put together my quote and I left. Again… felt like a number, horrible wait times and it felt like a heavy sales pitch with no regard to care for me during this process.
Then, I went to Dr. Trupiano’s office for a consult. I was greeted very pleasantly by Pam, his assistant. She was calm and quiet and sweet. The waiting room had a very modest showcase in the corner and was smaller in size, with a small stack of well-organized reading materials and I was the only one in the waiting room because they clearly didn’t overbook themselves. To this day, I think I have only ever passed maybe 3 or 4 patients in the waiting room or hall because they don’t overlap their patient bookings. Gold star #1. When I met with the Dr., I asked him all the same questions I asked the other two practices, but the difference was, he truly LISTENED to me. Gold Star #2. He looked into my eyes when he spoke, he studied my anatomy to make sure he could provide me the procedure, he asked ME plenty of questions to understand my level of commitment and to make sure I understood the risks and rewards. Gold Star #3. He was kind, and treated my case uniquely and with respect. There was no rushing to a sales pitch and he wasn’t drooling for my money like the other places. In fact… there WAS no sales pitch. Pam presented me with a full, crisp, organized folder with an itemized quote as well as lots of information about the different types of implants, the possible incision types, etc. and both Pam and the doctor smiled and shook my hand and let me know they would be happy to schedule another consult if needed to include my husband as well if I was interested so he understood the process. Gold Star #4. When I got home, I knew for a fact I had found a ‘home’ with Dr. Trupiano. All my trepidations melted away. I felt truly cared for.
When the time came for my procedures (which I had at the surgery center next door to his office to keep costs down) all of the staff, the nurses, the anaesthesiologists, the assistants as well as the doctor were incredible at keeping my nervousness at bay by making little jokes with me and using calm voices and encouraging me. When I came out of anaesthesia, there was Pam, gently smiling, warmly holding my hand and telling me how amazing I did and how excited she was for my results. Gold Star #5
Their follow-up and aftercare was also incredible. I did several post-op appointments so Dr. Trupiano so he could ensure proper healing and addressed all my questions and concerns. There was even an after-hours line for immediate concerns not within business hours, and all of it was included with the price of my surgeries. Every time I visit the office I am warmly greeted by Pam and Kristy, well cared for and most importantly; I am LISTENED TO.
As far as my results…OH. MY. GOD. I literally have a new lease on life. I am 41 now and I feel like I have the sexy body of a 27 year old. My breasts are GORGEOUS and supple. I tell my girlfriends to feel them and my husband giggles when I take my top off. They look youthful and natural. My stomach is finally tight and flat and there is no sagging skin. My face is glowing, my skin is dewy and my jawline is more defined and finally matches my toned body, and because Dr. Trupiano is conservative with fillers and botox I have never looked “emotionless” or over-injected. I am regularly told that I look 10 years younger then I am and I feel the sexiest I have ever felt in my entire life, and it is all due to the fantastic decision I made in choosing Dr. Trupiano and his practice. Gold Stars, spilling out, everywhere.
So… I realize that there are many highly skilled surgeons out there, with flashy offices and sales pitches. But if you want a doctor that is detail-oriented, fairly priced, honest, incredibly skilled, kind, and genuinely cares about the entire life cycle of his patients…
Go with Dr. Trupiano. I promise you… you will not be disappointed.
