Best Decision I’ve Ever Made
I cannot say enough great things about Dr.Askari and his team at Revive Plastic Surgery. I’m going to break my experience down, from pre-deposit, pre-op, and post-op, which I’m hoping will help you, the reader, make an informed decision. For reference, I had a BAM, BBL + lipo 360, chin lipo, and an upper blepharoplasty.Pre-deposit:Note that this section is about my experience before I made my decision to choose Dr. Askari and his team. Like others who are seeking to improve themselves through plastic surgery, I spent countless hours, months, and even years (since 2013) planning my surgery, and I wanted to ensure I chose the right doctor and I didn’t want to rush. I’ve had previous lipo before, which I felt was horrible, so I wanted to be even more cautious when choosing my next doc.I made the decision that 2021 will be the year I go for it, so I started following multiple surgeons on IG, reviewing before and afters and was originally thinking of going to Tijuana for my surgery, since I live in San Diego. It’s close, right? No. I decided to stay stateside because I wanted a better regulated, safer doctor and practice, and I was willing to travel if I found the right doc. I found a few docs in Los Angeles and in Miami, but the one office that stood out the most to me was Dr. Askari‘s office, Revive Plastic Surgery. The day after submitting my consultation request, I was contacted by Ely, Dr. Askari’s amazing coordinator, and she was extremely helpful and instantly made me feel comfortable. I got the feeling that they treat you like family at Revive, and that was huge for me. I didn’t want to be treated like a number or just a body; I wanted personalized assistance because that’s what my previous experience severely lacked. Out of the 12 doctors offices that I contacted, Revive by far, was top in customer service. I felt important from day one. After the initial contact, I was put in touch with Dr. Askari the following Wednesday for my consult, and I subsequently asked a few detailed questions. I was blown away by Dr. Askari’s professionalism and the manner in which he answered my questions. Just with the amount of time it took alone to answer my questions in very detailed and easy to comprehend language, I could tell this is a doctor who cares about not just his craft, but his patients as well. After this experience, I decided that Dr. Askari and Revive would be my chosen Dr and facility. I put down my deposit and set my date for March 19th.
Pre-op:
Given that I live in CA and the surgery site is in Miami, FL, you could imagine all of the details and preparation that went into getting ready for this surgery. I have to tip my hat again to Revive, as the entire team, Ely, Hoda and Bridgette helped me to figure out where to fly into, hotels (they do offer 2 days at a gorgeous hotel in Miami Beach, but I opted to go with a hotel with a kitchen and laundry; hindsight: I should have stayed at the hotel they recommended). They were always there for me when I had questions and they were extremely prompt with responding.
As time grew closer to surgery day, I had some concerns about my weight and other things regarding my labs. I cannot thank Ely enough for taking the time out of her day to reassure me and set my mind at ease. She and I talked quite a bit, sometimes when she was off the clock/after hours due to the time difference, and that is personalized patient care beyond what I ever expected. My labs came back great, I was ok with my weight, and I flew into Miami on March 18th.
That day I had my preop with Ely and Bridgette, where Bridgette was able to finally help me get accurate measurements - that reminds me, I was having trouble getting measurements on my own, so get this - Bridgette actually FaceTimed me and walked me through how to measure properly, step by step. Again, she didn’t have to do that, but wow. That helped me out so much. Just wanted to share that because again, this is something I never expected, but again, Revive blew me away with their customer service. The rest of the appointment went well, I received the goodie bag Revive provides to all of their patients, which consists of the post-op garments, BBL pillow, lipo foams, scar tape and a few other things that added to that personalized treatment I mentioned previously. It was a really nice touch, and very much appreciated (that BBL pillow is my best friend now). For the rest of the day, my best friend and I went exploring what Miami had to offer, based on recommendations from the Revive staff, and we enjoyed ourselves. It was for sure, a lot better experience than I imagined.
In what felt like a nanosecond later, it was surgery day! I scheduled an Uber to take me to the surgical center the night prior, and I got to the surgery center about 45 mins early. No problem there. I went inside and sat in the lobby until about 5:55 am when I went up to the office and hung out for about a minute until I met Dr. Askari’s surgical team. They were all so kind. Definitely soothing when you’re a bundle of nerves, that’s for sure. They all took their time with me, help me fill out paperwork, and talked to me to make me feel at ease. Shortly thereafter Dr. Askari showed up, took his time with me, marked me up, and answered all of my last-minute questions. Dr. Askari has an excellent bedside manner. I didn’t feel rushed at all and I felt like he was indeed taking his time and listening to what I had to say. I’m thankful for that, as that helped to calm me down even more. He was very detailed in explaining my procedures, too. Not rushed, and at that just confirmed what I already knew, which was that I was in great hands. I took a few pictures, then away I went! Surgery time!
Post-op:
The first thing I have to commend Dr. Askari on post-op, is that I was in recovery for a few hours. This important step wasn’t rushed, and I had a post-op nurse waiting for me for pick up. I forgot to mention that the post-op nurse is included with the surgery booking; what a relief. I was transported back to my hotel, and so began my recovery. I’ll have to say that my pain tolerance is incredibly high, so my pain levels were almost non-existent post-op. The only thing I felt was discomfort here and there as I adjusted to my new body. Pain level was a 1 at most, on a scale of 1-10.
I stayed in Miami for about 8 days after surgery, and wow. Post-op care by Revive? Even more amazing than pre-op. They checked on me daily, and Dr. Askari came to the hotel and did a post-op visit right there the Monday after surgery. I didn’t have to travel! I did another post-op with him at Revive on Wednesday, and that went well enough to where I didn’t have to see him again before I left that following Saturday. I felt great and was able to get around no problem. Also, Hoda. Just Hoda. What an angel. She’s Dr. Askari’s gorgeous wife, who takes client care to the next level. I had a teensy issue with the post-op surgical bra being too small, and what the heck. Hoda went out of her way, on a Saturday mind you, to get me the correct size bra AND!!! She delivered it to my hotel. Wow. She went above and beyond, and I’m still actually floored by that gesture. She took the time on her day off to ensure I was taken care of. That... is absolutely amazing. I’m still smiling about how awesome that was and how it made me feel. Thank you again, Hoda, if you’re reading this.
Before I flew out, I had a small complication. Like an idiot, I went overboard and packed my suitcase when I should have had some help. By doing this, I popped a small stitch on the underside of my right breast. When I contacted Revive about the situation, I got an immediate response and Dr. Askari was able to guide me through proper care. In fact, they offered to keep me in Miami for a few days to monitor (again, hindsight: I SHOULD have stayed). I went home and found the next day, that the stitch site tear grew a little larger. Dr. Askari was on the phone with me the next day giving me guidance, and I’ve been in contact with Revive daily since. They’re helping me so much through this, and I’m so very thankful for their attention to detail and after-care. Again, I didn’t expect this kind of personalized treatment whatsoever. They’re continually blowing me away on a daily basis. It means a lot to be treated as a human. And I can’t thank them enough.
I hope this review helps you in making a decision, and just know that Dr. Askari delivers. I’m so proud of my new body and I can’t thank him enough for making me feel beautiful again. People are sleeping on this surgeon. He’s absolutely fantastic! His exceptional team and their dedication to providing the best customer service/client care ever is also absolutely wonderful. Revive is a package deal. Top-notch in every sense of the word. Please give Dr. Askari and Revive the opportunity to make your dreams come true. You will not be disappointed.
