My size has now settled in at 32dd/34d, whilst it sounds big, it really isn't. I'm more at peace with the size now. Clothes on they look great. They are firm. For those considering b-lites because they are 30% lighter, please factor in that they will not feel like breast tissue. They are firm! As I have said before, for the size I ended up with there was no point in going for a lighter implant. For those wanting to go 350cc plus, the lighter implant would be beneficial. I'm not prepared to go through surgery again to go up by 200cc.
B-lites Implants
Mum of 2, breastfed both. 5ft3, size 10, bwd 10cm. Pre-op deflated 32c. Post-op 32d.
It's been a year since my breast augmentation surgery, so I thought it was now a good time to write a review. I was really swayed by the thought of having a 30% lighter implant to avoid sagging, so went for b-lites. An implant that not many surgeons/ cosmetic companies offer in England.
Mr Turton uses crisalix 3d to show the outcome. I asked for a significant increase whilst not looking ridiculously top heavy. I was a 34dd during breast feeding and that was my minimum goal. I went in with a triple padded bra and said with my clothes on 'this is the size I want'. I was marked and measured and advised that my bwd was 10cm. I was surprised that Mr Turton didn't measure me with my clothes on, so that he could choose an appropriate size, but then I thought this is his field, he knows what he is doing. During my consult there wasn't many sizes for me to see and gauge an idea of what was being offered.
I was an empty 32c and was recommended 175cc or 215cc, moderate or high profile. I said projection was important, so I straight away went for the biggest of the two. Having read many reviews saying 'trust your surgeon', i did. I realise now that we were not on the same page and that I should've seen other surgeons, even if they weren't using b-lites. I understand that going by sizers doesnt guarantee an exact result, but i believe if had had the sizer experience I would've realised myself that 215cc is a small implant. The reason I had chosen b-lites is that they are lighter, but it wasn't worth paying extra for a smaller size implant. I see now that Mr Turton is comfortable offering small increases in size, moderate at best.
I was very confused with sizes, I emailed and asked for a bigger implant 275cc imaging (which was the largest he was willing to consider) with the same diameter but was told my nipples would be further south, which really scared me. I still had a gap in my breasts and was told that was my anatomy and that nothing could be done about that. So I agreed to go with the 215cc and put my trust in my surgeon to achieve my end goal.
My surgery went well and I was well looked after. I cannot fault the hospital or its staff. When I went to my 2wk appointment, I said that they felt small and asked if they would get any bigger. I was told that they wouldn't but were the perfect size for me and that they looked great. I desperately hoped that they would fluff. At 6wks once the swelling had gone, however, I felt like I had made a very expensive mistake. For months after, I was devastatedly upset and angry with myself, it was all that I could think about. I even went to see another surgeon who measured my bwd at 12cm, so I couldve/ should've been offered more sizes.
I waited to review, as I thought my breasts may drop and fluff and once they settle into the final position, that I may be happy with them and be in a better place mentally. One year on and I am still wearing padded bra's. The whole experience has affected my confidence greatly, my husband has said that he will support me in doing a revision in a few years. I console myself that the smaller size means I have less potential problems and that they are still an improvement from before, but overall I am really upset that I had a surgery which I don't believe was worth the pain, time or expense.
