Mum of 2, breastfed both. 5ft3, size 10, bwd 10cm. Pre-op deflated 32c. Post-op 32d. It's been a year since my breast augmentation surgery, so I thought it was now a good time to write a review. I was really swayed by the thought of having a 30% lighter implant to avoid sagging, so went for b-lites. An implant that not many surgeons/ cosmetic companies offer in England. Mr Turton uses crisalix 3d to show the outcome. I asked for a significant increase whilst not looking ridiculously top heavy. I was a 34dd during breast feeding and that was my minimum goal. I went in with a triple padded bra and said with my clothes on 'this is the size I want'. I was marked and measured and advised that my bwd was 10cm. I was surprised that Mr Turton didn't measure me with my clothes on, so that he could choose an appropriate size, but then I thought this is his field, he knows what he is doing. During my consult there wasn't many sizes for me to see and gauge an idea of what was being offered. I was an empty 32c and was recommended 175cc or 215cc, moderate or high profile. I said projection was important, so I straight away went for the biggest of the two. Having read many reviews saying 'trust your surgeon', i did. I realise now that we were not on the same page and that I should've seen other surgeons, even if they weren't using b-lites. I understand that going by sizers doesnt guarantee an exact result, but i believe if had had the sizer experience I would've realised myself that 215cc is a small implant. The reason I had chosen b-lites is that they are lighter, but it wasn't worth paying extra for a smaller size implant. I see now that Mr Turton is comfortable offering small increases in size, moderate at best. I was very confused with sizes, I emailed and asked for a bigger implant 275cc imaging (which was the largest he was willing to consider) with the same diameter but was told my nipples would be further south, which really scared me. I still had a gap in my breasts and was told that was my anatomy and that nothing could be done about that. So I agreed to go with the 215cc and put my trust in my surgeon to achieve my end goal. My surgery went well and I was well looked after. I cannot fault the hospital or its staff. When I went to my 2wk appointment, I said that they felt small and asked if they would get any bigger. I was told that they wouldn't but were the perfect size for me and that they looked great. I desperately hoped that they would fluff. At 6wks once the swelling had gone, however, I felt like I had made a very expensive mistake. For months after, I was devastatedly upset and angry with myself, it was all that I could think about. I even went to see another surgeon who measured my bwd at 12cm, so I couldve/ should've been offered more sizes. I waited to review, as I thought my breasts may drop and fluff and once they settle into the final position, that I may be happy with them and be in a better place mentally. One year on and I am still wearing padded bra's. The whole experience has affected my confidence greatly, my husband has said that he will support me in doing a revision in a few years. I console myself that the smaller size means I have less potential problems and that they are still an improvement from before, but overall I am really upset that I had a surgery which I don't believe was worth the pain, time or expense. Updated on 28 Dec 2019: My size has now settled in at 32dd/34d, whilst it sounds big, it really isn't. I'm more at peace with the size now. Clothes on they look great. They are firm. For those considering b-lites because they are 30% lighter, please factor in that they will not feel like breast tissue. They are firm! As I have said before, for the size I ended up with there was no point in going for a lighter implant. For those wanting to go 350cc plus, the lighter implant would be beneficial. I'm not prepared to go through surgery again to go up by 200cc.
Hey girls, this has been a long time coming but I go for a consultation with Mr Philip Turton from spire Leeds hospital on Monday!! Just after some advice really, what questions to ask etc. Has anyone on here ever been with him before? Or had a treatment at spire Leeds? Hoping to book for August:)x Updated on 5 Jul 2017: Hey girls so I have a date set!! 1st of Sept!! Argh I can't wait now I'm getting so impatient! I have attached a few before pictures (this really took me a lot) Just wondered if any1 had any advice on a post op bra, where's best to get 1 from, what size, what to wear for bed? Thanks in advance if anyone comments :) x Updated on 6 Jul 2017: Few pics of my tiny girls in a double padded bra!! Can't wait to get rid of the gap at the top :) Updated on 13 Jul 2017: Her girls, got my pre assessments all booked in today!! 14th Aug, kinda glad actually because it breaks the time up a little, I spoke to my PS pa about maybe going back to talk about maybe going for a bigger implant that 400cc UHP maybe going to 425 or 430? Has anyone had 400 UHP? The only thing I'm put off by is buying clothes, I want to be the same size on the top as I am bottom, do you girls think I should go just that bit bigger? X Updated on 18 Jul 2017: Hi ladies, just thought I'd update & throw a few pictures in there too! Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what happens at my pre op with the nurse? Also has anyone had a BA that smokes? I'm kinda struggling to stop, I've cut down by like 70% but I can't seem to say no lol I am trying my best to stop 100% so I think I'm going to get some patches to help. Anyway hope you lovely lot are all good & healing well xx Updated on 23 Jul 2017: Hi ladies, so I've invested in my 1st EVER sports bra (not sporty at all so never needed 1) it's so comfy!! I've also just got a cheap 34DD unwired bra from asda as well but it looks so huge (compares to my tiny 34B bras anyway) starting to wonder if it's just wishful thinking that I'm going to fill it. I found out my old rice sizers 425cc or there abouts so thought is try them with my new purchases, I'm going to book another consultation after my pre ok on 14th to talk about maybe going up to 430cc rather than 400cc (both UHP) Has anyone achieved DDs with 400 UHP? Thanks in advance xx Updated on 21 Aug 2017: Hey everyone, so I had my final consultation today! Decided to go up a tad more to 420cc UHP! I'll upload some 3D images of what my PS made! Think I'm going to be very happy :) Updated on 4 Sep 2017: Hey everyone, just thought I'd do an update, had my surgery done friday 1st Sept, everything went well, I wasn't nervous 1 little bit (which I found strange) guess I'd wanted it done for so long I was over ready for them!! We went with 420cc UHP & im so happy I asked to go up just that little bit, I had my surgery quite late on in the day, around 6 ish so it's all a bit of a blur. As for the pain, its not as bad as I anticipated it to be, its more discomfort & stiffness than pain (I've had 2 c-sections so I've quite a high threshold) ive got a tubigrip bandage on them which i have to keep on for 2 weeks, the hardest thing is not being able to use my arms fully, keeping them down by my side is causing my shoulders to ache but i just try sit as upright as i can to straighten my back. Now on day 3 & feel ok, got my post op app on friday with the breast care nurse to check dressings etc. I've taken some pics, their not the best so sorry about that it's hard when I cant lift my arms lol any questions please just ask :) Updated on 5 Sep 2017: Couple of after pics - 4 days post op 420cc UHP Updated on 9 Sep 2017: Hey everyone just thought I'd give a quick update, pain is rapidly easing off now, mornings are hard when I just get back out of bed but once I'm up & moving around I start to feel better! I'm loving the shape & size so far! Post op appointment went well, I've not bled so didn't need a big dressing! I return back to work on Monday which is fine as I have an office job, I'm yet to drive my car but I'm going to try this weekend & see how I do. I've uploaded some pics from today officially 8 DPO :) Updated on 16 Sep 2017: Couple of post op pics, 2 weeks out & loving the new girls :) Updated on 22 Sep 2017: Hey ladies hope your all Well, so I'm 3 weeks out now & feeling better as the days pass by, no more pain at all, just a little stiff in the morning & after work when my children go to bed. My incisions are healing beautifully as well. The only problem I have at the minute is hypersensitive nipples!! Has anyone had these? I saw my PS on Tuesday & he said it was due to my nerve endings getting back to normal & that i will get all my nipple sensation back at around week 6 which is amazing!! My other half is loving them lol I have to make a rule for 'adult time' & the is that he goes nowhere near the nipples because they hurt like early breastfeeding boobs lol, other than sore nips I'm in love with them!! Dressing in clothes is so much more fun now!! I love wearing tight tops & when I'm out shopping etc I find my self looking in every window reflection & mirror I walk past ha! Anyway if anyone has advice on what I can do about my poorly nipples would be appreciated! Happy healing to you all :) Updated on 26 Sep 2017: Just a few pics in normal clothes :) Loving them!! Updated on 28 Sep 2017: Hey ladies, so I'm 4 weeks out tomorrow, can see a difference between them, my right is sitting lower than the right, it looks like right is more rounded just near my incision than the left (left it straight at the bottom) like it hasn't fallen into the pocket properly (has anyone else had this?) Anyway I've uploaded some pics, can't really see the flat edge but never mind :) Updated on 3 Oct 2017: Hey everyone, so I have a video to upload, its not for the faint hearted so if it's TMI then please don't watch it (there's no blood don't worry) I was in the shower 2night & noticed a bit of crust on my left nipple, didn't think anything of it (after all boobs do strange things after surgery, Right?) Anyway I rubbed it off then noticed that my nipple was slightly white??? So I tried to rub it gently to notice some fluid coming out of it! I got out & as I was drying my self off I inspected it again, I gave it a gentle squeeze (very gentle as they are still sore from the hypersensitivness) I had a baby 19 months ago so I wondered if it was just the dregs of milk left over from that, because I had the implants under the muscle maybe they have pushed it all to the surface??? I'm not pregnant (Well I would be more than shocked if I was) so if it's not the case of the implants then I'm really stuck for what it could be?! Has anyone else had this before? Should I contact my breast care nurse? Or my PS? Any help or advice would be great :) Other than that the boobs are great lol 1 month out & loving them :) Updated on 4 Oct 2017: Hey everyone, so I have a video to upload, its not for the faint hearted so if it's TMI then please don't watch it (there's no blood don't worry) I was in the shower 2night & noticed a bit of crust on my left nipple, didn't think anything of it (after all boobs do strange things after surgery, Right?)
