After a 12 Year Wait: 40 Yr Old Mother of Three; 34B(small Side)/126 Lbs
WORTH IT$5,700
My surgery is scheduled for November 19, finally doing this after a 12 year wait. I am traveling to NC for my surgery after receiving recommendations of Dr. Riou and doing plenty of research. I had my consult in July. Dr. Riou recommended that I get Submuscular and transaxillary saline implants. My goal is to regain some of my fullness before children. While pregnant with my first child my bra size increased from a 32C to a 32DD. As a result, my skin stretched and there is quite a bit to work with. I tried 350cc, 400cc, and 450cc. I’m still not sure which size to choose. I’ve written off the 350cc’s because I don’t think they’ll make as much of an impact. The 400cc seemed pretty good, but I have always heard from friends and in my research that most women wish they went slightly larger. I don’t know what to do!
I will have my pre-surgery appointment a week before my surgery. I hope that Dr. Riou will help me decide the best size. I hope that we are making the right choice on going with saline versus silicon. Despite all my research, now that I’m having to make a choice for my own body I’m not sure what will look the best. I’ve got to put faith in my doctor. I’ve become obsessed with this site and appreciate all the other ladies that have chosen to share their story.
I’m so excited and nervous!!!

Tomorrow is the day! 40 yr old mom of 3, 127#/5’5”
I will have surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30. I’m not terribly nervous except about my chosen size and whether I will be capable to do anything next week. Thank goodness this is a Thursday and I’ll have the weekend to relax and heal.
My kids are teenagers and know exactly what I’m having done and are happy for me. They are super helpful and this has been a great teaching moment. We’ve talked about self confidence and making decisions about this sort of thing based on what you feel and not based on other people’s opinions.
I have a cocktail of meds including painkillers (that does make me nervous), muscle relaxers, Valium, and an anti-nausea medication. I’m not a big medicine taker. I barely take Tylenol unless my pain is unbearable, which is rare.
My pre-op appointment went well. I was pleased with how my doctor answered my questions. The nurse was very helpful as well. We decided to decrease my implant size to 350cc, but will still do saline, underarm incision, as well as under muscle. They gave me a special wash to use tonight on my armpits and my breasts.
Here goes nothing! Time to take my Valium and go to sleep. I’ll post again tomorrow post-op.

Surgery complete!
Wow! I cannot believe my surgery is over. It went spectacularly. We had to drive two hours to get home after the surgery and every time we hit the smallest of bump I cried it hurt so bad. I would recommend staying in a hotel should you have to travel far.
My incisions look great. There is a little bruising which I’m sure is normal based on other people’s reviews.
I’ve stopped taking my prescription painkillers and am just taking Tylenol along with my muscle relaxers. The muscle relaxer make the biggest difference.
Yesterday I wasn’t very hungry minus eating a couple Lunchables. I’ve never eaten them before, but they hit the spot. Going to try eating some soup later today. I’ve been drinking water and apple juice like crazy. I’m so thirsty.
My best friend brought me a milk shake last night and I ate the entire thing. I barely remember it! Lol Apparently she and my other best friend were dying laughing. Said all sorts of crazy things and would fall asleep mid-sentence! I wish they recorded it!
We have a small recliner which has been a life saver. I slept through the entire night.
I’ll send another update tomorrow and then begin posting once a week unless there is some sort of drastic event or change.
