Revision with Smaller Implants and a Lift. Sientra 355cc over the Muscles

WORTH IT

First augmentation 1997 after 2 pregnancies and breastfeeding (got huge from pregnancy and breastfeeding) left 32A’s deflated and sagging. Don’t know the cc’s on silicone implants but I ended up 34c. Implants ruptured after about 10 years. Breasts were soft and lumpy but not painful or hard. Never got any illnesses from them.

Consultation with Dr Hankins in 2006 after my daughter’s friend recommended him. Surgery went well and Dr removed ruptured implants and gooey silicone. Replaced with Mentor 500cc, HP I think. No lift needed.

Turned 70 and I wanted a slimmer profile with smaller implants. Getting older with heavy implants, slight weight fluctuations and stretching of the breasts, I felt and looked more matronly.

Even though we moved out of state, I went back to Dr Hankins. I trust him and he listened to what I wanted and understood my concerns.

Surgery went well and no problems with the anesthesia. Sientra 355cc moderate profile over the muscles with a lift.

The Dr has a great staff and Bambi has been awesome in my aftercare remotely via text or cell phone.

Only 3 narcos 2 days after surgery which was the most painful day. Next day only 1 extra strength Tylenol. Sore off and on next few weeks but nothing unbearable. Worst was sleeping on my back. Lol. Used neck pillow and recliner to keep me at an angle.

5’5”. 124 lbs. slim build.

Once I get before and after pictures, I will post. Trying to upload picture I just took, but says file too large. I have to work on that. I’m not to savvy on tech stuff. Lol.

I forgot to add, my left Mentor implant had ruptured per Dr Hankins. I do mammograms yearly I mentioned to the Dr. and wasn’t aware of the rupture. Silicone was contained and didn’t migrate like my first ones.

I should have mentioned I got my first BA in Los Angeles by a plastic surgeon Dr Nicholas Herr.

Finally figured how to post a picture. Once I get the before and 4 weeks after, I will post. Hopefully this will give the RS community an idea of a 70 year old that has had 3 augmentation surgeries over many years.

Great results! It is really nice to read your story, I just had a revision. I had my first BA in 2020 and bottomed out within a couple months! Hoping that this revision prevents the same issue from happening again! I'm over the muscle too, were you always over the muscle? I hope my implants last as long as yours did! I have heard Mentor has a higher rupture rate, I wanted Sientra but my PS didn't carry them, so I stuck with Mentor. You really have amazing results, hopefully you can post more photos! Have a great day!

Hi Honeysuckle91
Thank you for the compliment. Yes, all my BA’s were over the muscles. I did have to pay an extra $1000 for the Sientra, but I was told and read their warranty about being the best. I will check out your profile. Have a great day too! Btw, I will post more pictures as I heal.

Yes the Sientra implants can be pricey but they are worth it. They have such a nice feel to them! Most people are under the muscle so it is really nice to see someone that has had implants for a while and was able to stay over the muscle. Most of the revisions I see of women that have had subglandular implants for a number of years end up having a plane change to sub-muscular. That is something I don't want to do in the future, so it gives me hope that you were able to stay subglandular this entire time!

You are right. Sientra do feel great. Over the years, the implants have improved so much.

Healing is good and I started on Biocoreneum. Implants are soft and I’m back on my elliptical. Also doing my leg lifts on my weight bench and sit-ups. Don’t like wearing a support bra 24/7 but I have an investment to keep up. Lol.

Lol, I feel the same about the surgical garments! I love the Sientra implants, they are the most soft and squishy implant I have felt compared to Allergan and even more squishy than Mentor. Your scars are healing great for one month!

Thank you dear. This is 70 year old skin. Lol. I’m trying to keep up on my scar treatment. Can’t wait to see what 6 months looks like.

Wow! You have no sun damage for being 70 years young! Haha I love going to the beach but boy has it caused horrible sun damage on my chest! You have great skin!

Do you have feeling in your nipple area or are you numb from nerve damage?

Almost too sensitive the first surgery in my 20’s. Second surgery in my 50’s sensation backed off some. 3rd surgery over a year ago some what numb but better than over sensitive.
