Saline Breast Implant deflated after 9 years
ORIGINAL POST
Replace Deflated Implant
WORTH IT$5,000
Had breast augmentation about 10 yrs ago with saline implants and one day in 2020 I woke up with a deflated left hand side implant deflated. Was surprising and sad.Tried scheduling with various locations but no one called back. Advanced Aesthetics was the only place who actually answered the phone and I was able to schedule a consultation. Long story short, it took a year to get a surgery date but I am very pleased with the results. You tell me?!

Hi! What was your initial size?
May I ask if you experienced BII symptoms?
Thanks!

I'm not too certain what initial size was because I lost my paperwork with all the moves and when trying to get information from the original doctor office, they don't save anything past 5 years which surprised me. Anyway, all that to say that when Dr. Feldman. Conducted the revision he told me the brand and profile after he replaced them. I think I had like 325 and 350 cc's before. That he couldn't confirm since one was deflated and the other he couldn't remember. I only recall them being different as I did think before one was slightly larger than the other. Dr. Feldman says he pulled out a Moderna HP and MP implants. He replaced both with Natrelle HP this time around. Regarding BII, I had to google what you were referring to ("What Is Breast Implant Illness?" https://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/surgery/reconstruction/types/implants/special-report/breast-implant-illness) and to be honest, If I have any or all of the symptoms on the list I would never have attributed them to my breast augmentation. I would say life and age influence how one reacts to things too but I can't say for sure they were BII. I'm sorry if that doesn't answer the question. I'm probably not a good test subject as in the 10 years since getting the initial surgery I've moved 3 times, I've had 7 different office jobs and accomplished many things (physically and career-wise) so I can't help nor for sure say if BII is something I experienced.

Such a long time wait. But glad you got it fixed. Looks good. I think after 10 years that is about time to revisit. Did you got saline too the 2nd pair.

Yes, I decided that based on what happened the first time around, and the wait was so long to get seen and revision surgery that maybe saline would be safest.

Amd you are correct ! Ruptured silicone implants are far more potentially harmful .

9 days Post Op
Went to 6 day Post-Op appointment and Dr. Feldman thought I was 3 months post-op (I assume a compliment) but so far I'm healing well and very happy with progress and overall aesthetic. I couldn't be more pleased to be honest. Hopefully, these breast implants will last me longer! *Inside joke for someone who just conducted revision due to deflation* I have another appointment in 4 days to get stitches removed. I also forgot to tell the story of how quickly they got me through the revision surgery on the first place! I got to Advanced Aesthetics, was brought in, they did their blood tests, (mind you that I had already taken prescribed meds an hour before as stated in pre-op guidance), Dr. Feldman came in to say hi and check in on me. He summarized what we were doing. I told him I trusted him. He left and they said the anesthesiologist would come in soon and let me know that its time. I literally closed my eyes for a minute thinking its cause of the premeds taken and when I awoke, they told they had finished the surgery and I could go home! Amazing! I didn't even get the chance to be anxious or nervous which is great! Lol! I did have throat pain as they warned due to breathing tube while they conduct

Ugh, new phone and I'm a terrible user obviously. I apologize for how fragmented and bad the spelling in my posts are! The breathing tube caused some irritation. I think it was the most obvious pain besides slight chest discomfort. It did hurt slightly to breathe when laying on my back so definitely pillows and sitting up woth support was crucial. Husband said this time around the pain seemed bearable as he recounted the story of how I cried for 5 days the first time ( which for the life of me I still don't remember that happening - I actually don't have bad/ill memories of the first breast augmentation). Overall, discomfort was bearable with meds taken on time or as close to on time as possible. I think I was able to get on tylenol and stop the strong stuff on day 5. Definitely, had to get a larger recovery bra at the first post-op visit as it was digging in the stitches and into my shoulders but once changed over ot made such a difference. So far, all good. Will try to post the photos now if I do this right this time! Thank you for your patience!

9 day Post-Op photos
See prior post + comment! Photos are 9 days Post-Op. Very happy with size and feel. I think they are where they need to be position wise and slight discomfort so far is if I have been too long upright without the medical bra. I will try to sleep without it a night every so often to give me space to breathe. Luckily, I haven't turned and hurt myself (knocking on air wood)! So far so good!

They look great. I wondered if you had them over or under muscle and if the new ones are silicone.
Revision looks great. How many CC’s did you end up getting ?
