Breast Revision with Strattice for CC

I had a revision for capsular contracture. My new surgeon used Strattice mesh to help prevent the return of CC. She did extensive scar removal and placed the Strattice as a sling for the new implants to prevent CC. She placed in drains as an additional risk preventer. So far I am so thankful that my rock hard, painful breasts are gone. I look forward to seeing them drop and take their final shape. I hope they look beautiful but my main concern is their health. I am 4 days pos op I'll update regularly for the ladies that new my last surgery journey and for anyone curious about Strattice as there weren't many reviews for it.

Hi! Thanks for being willing to share your journey! CC is so terrible! I had implants for 17 yrs and never had a problem until I had them exchanged in 2018...I just had them revised by another surgeon in March of this year and developed CC again on my right side. At this point my Dr. Is recommending Strattice to prevent CC from coming back. Im extremly nervous about the procedure, pain, healing time and how my body may respond to the Strattice mesh... So thank you for post about this! Do you have any updates to shate yet? I hope your healing is going well!

I will update tonight. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps. Just go to a surgeon who has good experience with strattice. I will post my 2 week update with pictures.

Im pretty lucky, in that my current surgeon, who performed my last surgery to correct my CC, has had over 10 yrs of experience with Strattice. She initially took the conservative approach by just doing a complete capsulectomy with new implants. But since I quickly developed CC again on my right side she is now strongly recommending Strattice to help reduce my chances of developing CC again.
How did you find out about Strattice and how did you find your surgeon?
June 3, 2020
My surgeon told me about it. I spent a long time reading and trying to find reviews for it, but there were not many. My surgeon had some patients that great results from strattice so we decided to try it. My 1st surgeon was in fort Lauderdale (who was widely known) but I wasn't comfortable going back to him. I know a lot of women who use a local surgeon where I live who have had excellent work. I actually consulted her 2 years ago but was swayed to the other doc in Florida. I wish I would have went with her to begin with; live and learn right.

For my replacement surgery in 2018 I went to Doctor in NC, who had over 200 Reviews with almost all 5 stars. So I thought I was set! Unfortunately, the work he did on me caused me to have CC by using a "popcorn" capsulariphy technique that cause alot of swelling and fluid build up. It was terrible. Plus he tried to force them more medial, which did not work with my anatomy and created an animation deformity. He also changed my implant style from a Moderate to a HP, which we did not discuss. So implants were way to narrow and did not look good on me at all. Fory revision surgery I did A LOT of research as well and decided it would be best to find a doctor that was more local. But CA is saturated with PS. I went to 5 different Doctors until I found my current surgeon. I too wish I had found her sooner and had gone to her for my replacement... Durning my last surgery she did everything she could to prevent the CC from reoccurring but it came back on my right side. Thats when she recommended Strattice. I had never heard about it before. So Ive I also have tried to reach it. Found several entries of people asking about it but hardly any reviews of people who have had it. So, Im really glad you are posting your story! Looking forward to your updates and DEFINITELY hoping you'll have an amazing outcome with success!!
... Has it been painful? I know the Strattice has to be swen into the muscle. Can you feel it at all?
June 3, 2020
Dang you have been through a lot. Yes it was very painful but mainly on my left side. That was my worst side. It had a lot of scare tissue and was worse than the right. I had grade 4 cc and it was awful. I cant feel the strattice but I can feel where it meets my muscle. My doc said it will integrate and that will go away. I have thin skin so it's easy to see and feel imperfections. I am still super nervous of cc though I know this is suppose to bring my chances or getting it again from 50% to 10-15% so I'm very hopeful. I am told to massage them well (from the top) to help them drop better I'm pretty pain free at this point as long as I dont do anything stupid. Lol I have been sleeping in a lift chair that I rented (love it) so I dont roll over on them sleeping. All in all so far I am very happy. I dont feel like there is a massive padded bra hooked to me that I cant take off anymore. I hope you get your revision and it fixes your cc. Cc is so horrible. Sorry if there are typos my phone is acting up.

I am finally feeling better. My pain is okay. Aside from some horrid muscle pain under my arm pits near my ribs to my shoulder blades. I have a lot of nerve pain. They are softer and I am massaging as directed. I look forward to them dropping and looking normal. Although because of the cc they haven't looked normal in 2 years so I am trying to be patient. My left side is the stubborn one as it had the most scar tissue and needed the most work. It was also the main side that hurts. I am happy to answer any questions about strattice since there are not many reviews for it.

Congratulations, you've made it past the 2 week mark!! My surgeon told me that if patients experience any complications its usually within the first 2 weeks.
I have a couple of questions so far:
1. How long did you have drains? And did you have alot of fluid output?
2. How long will it take for them to drop into their final position?
3. How would you describe your muscle pain? And was/is it "manageable" on pain meds?... this is one area I am worried about. I was really sore after just having a capsulectomy.

Praying for your recovery and for you to have beautiful results!!

I had drains for 7 days. The fluid out put was not to bad. It started with about 60 cc per side daily. Then down to about 23 after 4 days then basically none at day seven. It will probably take about 3 month to see the best final results though I see a big difference now. They are so soft and before this my breast were Rick hard and hurt. The pain was definitely manageable with pain meds. The 1st 2 weeks were the worst but still manageable. If you have any more questions let me know. As of now I am so thankful for strattice and my wonderful surgeon.

I am just over 4 weeks post op. I feel great and am happy so far with the progress. They are soft and don't hurt when I hug people or lay on my stomach. My surgeon cleared me for most activities. My nerve pain kicked my but last week and it was pretty bad. I have a good bit of numbness near my left arm pit and just under that shoulder so I knew the nerves were gonna hurt when they started waking up. My left side is still higher and I know they will settle far more but I am very happy with my results. Strattice is well worth the price so far.
