God Couldn’t Do It But Dr Moncreif Did….

My breast adventures have been long. I had my first implants at 35, tear drop sub glandular with a partial lift through base of the nipple, by a plastic surgeon in Adelaide. I share my story with you because I wish I had gone to Dr Moncreif. I was in Adelaide & instagram was just getting off the ground. Don’t get me wrong I did love my implants & had wanted it done since I was 15. However 3 years on I discover Hunter Plastic Surgery on Insta gram & end up with plastic surgeon envy. I couldn’t believe the amazing boobs & body transformations that were reversed weekly. I admired the way HPS really lifted women up & changed their lives to make them feel better about themselves not just skin deep. The photo shoots, the empathy in every interaction from the team, it was bloody admirable. 7 yrs after my surgery I found that my implants had been recalled. No immediate response was required but when you dug deeper some woman were developing cancer or experiencing ruptures. I had an ultrasound & mine were ok but I felt uncomfortable. There was only one person that I would trust. Dr Moncreiff of Hunter Plastic Surgery. I was still in Adelaide at the time & I booked my consult. Unfortunately covid happened & this put a 2 year hold on my consult. To make things more challenging I had moved to Perth for work. I could have chosen any number of plastic surgeons in Perth or anywhere in Australia really. I could have gone to Korea even (the plastic surgery capital) BUT I chose the best breast plastic surgeon in Australia. I flew to Newcastle 5 times for consults & surgeries. To say I trusted Dr Moncreif is an understatement. On first consult Dr M suggested removal of the implants & I wanted smaller nipples so he said an areola reduction & lift with internal bra (no foreign materials used) BUT I would have to wait 9-12mth & come back for the implants. My heart sank & I immediately thought of my embarrassment of having small breasts for 12mths & what would my partner think & how will I look in clothes etc. it was a lot to consider. Dr M said it’s the only way to get the best results & that’s what I do here. You know what, that was why I was there, it was why I flew across the country to see the best. So I trusted him & started the adventure.

I returned 3mths later for the implant removal, uplift & areola reshape & internal bra technique. Private health covered my hospital stay as I have gold cover & I got a small amount back from Medicare for the removal. The Lingard Private Hospital was great. With gold cover it allowed me to stay in hospital for 3 nights. It was advised I stay locally for up to 5 days which I did. So a further 2 nights in Charlestown at the Best Western Plus Apollo International (see my Google review). I had a post op appointment with Dr M & his nurse Leesy before I flew back to Perth that day. A long day but it was ok & worth it. Recovery was fast for me. HPS have easy to follow guides to recovery step by step. Even being across the other side of the country I felt safe, considered & well cared for. I booked in with my GO for the week 3 bandage removal & I had nurse leesy on speed dial if necessary. Photos were taken then re bandaged. I stuck to a high protein diet to help fast skin recovery as well as taking zink, pro biotics for skin health etc which all helped. By week 12 I was back at Pilates & gym.

I won’t lie I really wanted the second surgery by the 9th month. I visited for a consult & Dr M said “Sal, the scars are just not ready yet” he was right & I knew it. But at 11 mths I went back for surgery 2. I had 375 anatomical implants placed with a specialised dual plane technique, sculpted with fat grafting from my inner & outer thoughts. This was a day surgery at Charlestown private surgery (see my Google review).

I am at week 6 & I am happy. I am patiently going through the drop & fluff stage. The nipples still need to drop & implant drop into the pocket & swelling subside as well as shape really take place.

What I mostly want to share is that, there is no better surgeon or plastic surgeon clinic for your breast adventures or body make over.

Dr Moncreif is very gifted & you are in very safe hands. He is very relaxed called me Sal from the get go & is a cool cat so to speak. I loved his honesty & that he was happy to say, well we only do it the way that gets the best results. There was no pressure just a job done to its most meticulous results. Jasmine & Emma in customer service are exceptional in their roles. I felt safe, respected & cared for by them both. Nothing was ever an inconvenience for them. The smiles they beam through the phone to Perth made me feel special. Jessica the practice manager is so organised, sassy & funny! This woman knows exactly what she is doing. Jess made me feel confident about my choices & when I was standing naked in-front of a camera some how it was not a big deal. Leesy what can I say… best nurse ever! I had weekend & day off phone calls with her & I never once felt an imposition. So knowledgeable & empathetic. I got so much confidence from my scheduled phone chats with Leesy.
