Elated with my Explant, Capsulectomy & Mastopexy Results Due to Breast Implant Illness

Dr. Brenner truly is the gold standard for Breast Implant Illness patients. What was a scary process was made entirely comfortable by Dr. Brenner and his team. I opted for the “trifecta” of explant surgeries: explant, capsulectomy and mastopexy. In late 2018, slowly but surely I started showing symptoms of breast implant illness. After years of feeling sick and discussing it with my GP she supported my decision to get my implants removed. I did A LOT of research before finding and choosing Dr. Brenner and his team to getting me back on a path to being healthy.
I had several consultations with other surgeons before consulting with Dr. Brenner. It was evident at my first consultation that his experience, knowledge and years of helping BII patients, was far and beyond any other surgeon I had met with. He acknowledged that my symptoms could be a cause of me feeling sick all the time and understood what I was going through wasn’t something I had fabricated in my mind or was due to just getting older. Although I was confident in entrusting my surgery with him, I remember at my pre-op appointment I was flooded with unexpected emotion (anxiety & relief at the same time), it was a long time coming to finally get those toxic bags removed from my body. He was patient, compassionate, and gave the reassurance I needed at that moment.
I need to mention that along the way Amanda P., who was a former patient and is “The Breast Team” leader of Dr. Brenner was there to check in on me from day one to well after my surgery. With her having gone through the process, I found her to have invaluable insight and offers an important post-op component to my BII journey that other offices do not possess.
Feeling well was the main purpose of having my surgery. But I confess that I was concerned about how I would look post explant. I wanted to choose a surgeon who not only would recognize that I was getting sick from my implants and remove them, but who could perform the breast lift and have beautiful breasts post explant. I’m 2 months post-op and I love my results. With the majority of my most debilitating BII symptoms having dissipated I am feeling great and I have beautiful looking breasts. I am so happy to be where I am today. His skill is beyond reproach, and I do not regret for a second choosing to go to him.
Post-Op Services - One of the best parts of choosing Dr. Brenner is you have at your disposal his Breast team! I love the fact that there is a whole team behind him for BII aftercare. You can utilize as much or as little as you want. Whether you are needing a holistic health practitioner or post-surgical naturopathic care he has the resources. Everyone at his office administers the most outstanding patient care: Amanda, Rosey, his admitting nurse that holds your hand the day of surgery, Laurie, his anesthesiologist, down to his office staff. Dr. Brenner and his team put me and my needs first and they are passionate about giving women the best experience they can have. I highly recommend consulting with him if you are considering doing and explant.
