Best explant surgeon ever! 39, saline implants & grade 3 capsular contraction

On June 6th, Dr Dev did my explant surgery to remove my saline implants that I had for almost 19 and a half years. Coming to the acceptance that I had breast implant illness was not easy. It took me many years to realize that all my health issues stemmed from me getting breast implant surgery in 2003. I got my implants so I’d feel confident, as bullied in my younger years for being small chested, which created deep rooted self-esteem issues. Now, at 39 years old, I realized my health must come first and my symptoms were way too much to bear. I found Dr Dev through two referrals, one of which is my best friend who underwent explant surgery with Dr Dev a year prior with incredible results. My biggest worry was what I would look like post surgery, seeing as I was naturally small chested and that my implants had been in my body so long! What I can say after 11 days, is that Dr Dev is a true ARTIST, incredible surgeon, and arguably the most caring, caring doctor I’ve ever met! I know the full results can take up to six months to a year to see, but I can already see his incredible work. I’m going to look as close to what I did before as possible! He’s a reconstructive genius! Not only is he talented, but he made me feel so comfortable and seen during a truly scary, emotional process! He held my hand while the anesthesia kicked in and told me I was going to be okay! After surgery, I received photos and a capsule cutting video where Dr Dev took the time to explain what he saw during my surgery: I had a grade 3 capsular contraction, inflamed tissue, and my implants were stuck to my ribcage and armpits and he was glad I got my implants out and that I’ll feel so much better soon. Receiving these helped me feel cared for, informed and included in the process, and confirmed the symptoms I’ve been experiencing! Dr Dev truly loves his work and cares about his patients. On top of that, Dr Dev’s staff is INCREDIBLE. His patient coordinator Beatrice is a GODSEND! She’s so understanding, patient, knowledgeable and like Dr Dev, truly loves what she does! She spoke to me multiple times before surgery when I was having fears and has been by my side afterwards to direct, answer questions, and give endless support no matter what time of day! She truly empathizes with you and I don’t think I could have gone through the surgery without her support and knowledge. Thank you Beatrice!! My surgical nurse Angela and the nursing team, the anesthesiologist, and Jonathan with the office staff were so amazing and professional. I look forward to continuing my treatment under the care of Dr Dev & the Aqua team and will refer everyone I know to them!! Thank you Dr Dev and the Aqua team for giving me my health back!
