Bottomed out 1 year PO

$7,200
My implants bottomed out after a couple months and continued to get worse month by month. I just got a revision with another PS. My original PS wanted to charge 10,000 (which apparently was a "deal"). Very disappointing to feel like you did all the research and chose the right surgeon just to have a failed result and the surgeon not take any responsibility. Unfortunately it comes with the territory. I just had them redone. I had a capsulorraphy and galaflex mesh placed with larger new implants. It was definitely way more painful when I came out of surgery, I was surprised at the pain I was in. Revision surgery lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes. Lots of internal suturing to help support/fix my over dissected pockets. Pain was manageable later that day, once I took some pain meds, a week out I'm still uncomfortable in some spots but very happy to have them re-done. I had at least 20+ consultations all around my area (Hawaii) and the US mainland. I decided to go with Dr. Colgrove in Atlanta, GA for my revision, I am very happy with the service I received. I will be posting a review on my experience in another post. Hopefully the capsulorraphy and galaflex mesh will prevent me from bottoming out again. I finally have cleavage, still very swollen, but excited to see the final result. Here are two different photos showing pre-op through one year post-op and another picture one year post-op through right after revision. I went from Mentor Memorygel Xtra 370cc MPP to Mentor Memorygel 650cc HP with galaflex mesh and capsulorraphy. I decided to go with the regular Mentor Memorygel instead of the Xtra gel. They both have the same exact gel inside but the Xtra are 98% filled and the regular memorygel are 93% filled. The Xtra implants didn't feel soft enough for me, hopefully I don't have any rippling with the lower filled implants, I am over the muscle, I wanted to stay over the muscle and just correct the pockets. I will post a review with more photos of the revision soon to show how I am healing. Hope this helps anyone who is dealing with the same issue.

They’re gonna look amazing!
How are your revision results doing now a year later after Colgrove swapped out your implant volume/profile? Also, do you know what your BWD was prior to your first surgery?
Hello! Now that I am a year out everything is great! I do have a couple things that I would change, like the type of implants, I wish I got the Mentor Memorygel Xtra because I do have some rippling when I bend over. And I wish I asked the PS to do something about the skin on my sternum. The skin is almost detached from my primary BA, I don't know any other way to describe it. It was really bad after my primary BA and Dr. Colgrove felt that it would be fixed by simply lifting the IMF. It is a lot better after the revision, but anytime I lay down in a reclined position, like with pillows behind my back, it looks gross because the skin folds over. I think I posted a video about it on my revision page. My biggest concern is that my right breast feels like the capsulorraphy came undone, or the stitches broke during my recovery. You can feel the thick scar tissue that was deep in the IMF originally is now at the base of my breast. I was supposed to set up a telehealth appt with the PS, and send pics, but I never did. I do think he would fix it for free, but right now I don't have the money to fly out to the east coast and I can't take off work at this time. I try and be as transparent as possible and show the good and the bad. Overall I absolutely love my results and I am very happy with how well they turned out. I have a good IMF, I haven't bottomed out, and I actually have cleavage. Neither PS told me what my BWD was, and I never thought to ask at the time. I will have to post an update now that I'm a year post-op. Sorry for the long message!
It’s a shame the Surgeon wasn’t forced to be held accountable for his shoddy work! Thank you for the review, I was considering him for revision surgery but will not be using him.
I would highly suggest you go to someone else. If you are in the Last Vegas area I would recommend Dr. Brown or Dr. Richards. They both have really awesome work. Dr. Brown is great and I wish I went to her, unfortunately she doesn't really do out of town patients, she will only do it if you go in for a consultation first and then go back for surgery. Since I live in Hawaii at the time that seemed like too much for me, but I wish I had done it, it would have saved me a lot of money and time. And Dr. Richards does amazing work but he has a long wait list if I remember correctly. I'm not sure what problems you are having with your implants or if you are willing to travel, but if you are looking at Las Vegas I would recommend those two doctors!
Thanks!

I'm currently around 4.5 months PO. My breasts are very soft compared to one month ago. I'm going to try and add some updated pictures and videos but sometimes they won't upload. Still loving my results, I do wish I had a little more projection but it isn't a big deal for me. My bra size is around a 36D possibly a DD. I find myself pouring out of the 36C push-up bra. I'm really loving sports bras, they are comfortable, provide support, and some can give really nice cleavage!

Beautiful boobs. Before they were nice. Now better. In some bra they look like natural. Good job. Please update. Regards.
Did you go under the muscle ? Would a lift have helped the upper pole situation? Because sometimes more CC is just added weight .
The PS recommended over the muscle. I initially said I didn't want any upper pole, now that I have them there are little things I want lol that I didn't know I would want. More projection and upper pole fullness. I have seen a lot of subglandular and dual plane and completely under the muscle and i feel like after a year they can end up as low as subglandular. As far as were my crease sits a lift wouldn't be necessary unless to even out my areolas. I do plan on getting them redone when I have the finances, I am curious what my original PS would recommend to achieve what I want. So far one PS said for a revision he would go under and another said he would stay over the muscle. I haven't talked about it with my original PS yet, I would like to go back to my original PS because he gave me exactly what I asked for originally, and I feel like he could give me what I want now. I'm just surprised because I asked for a quote range for a revision and the secretary stated way more than what I initially paid. So that was disappointing. I do worry if I put larger implants in the subglandular position then I will need a lift later and I don't want that! Thank you for the comment!

Here are some more pictures of my breasts at 3 months, before, and in-between. I forgot to state that my implants are round and smooth. I still don't have the feeling back in the bottoms of my breasts. At first it was really uncomfortable and felt so strange, but now I'm used to the feeling and it doesn't bother me. I never lost nipple sensation, I have extremely sensitive nipples and that is still the same lol. It really is amazing to see the difference 3 months makes. I will include some pictures of them in sports bras (which are my favorite) and some regular bras. The black bra has no padding (I hate padding, I always pull it out if I can) and has underwire. The white bra is padded, not pushup and has underwire.

Wasn't able to add all of the pics I wanted, this post is all 3 months PO
What incredible results. I hope you are very pleased!
Thank you! Yes I love them! I really am so happy I had them done! Thanks
Looking at these without a bra, youre right they are a bit too low. Show them to Dr Revis, Im sure he will say theyre bottomed out. He said it about my right breast when I had 550cc, my right one was bottomed out, even tho it wasnt placed too low but placed incorrectly in the pocket.
Dr. Revis did say I was bottomed out, or at least over dissected when I sent him pics and got my quote. I like my nipples to be high lol but not this high. They sit at the top of the implant instead of in the middle or "breast mound". I think they look great when I'm wearing sports bras, it gives me the cleavage I want but I wish that when I took off my bras that the top of my cleavage started at my armpit area instead of starting so low. One PS's told me that I was bottomed out and that the skin would just keep stretching and stretching and of course he told me I had to go under the muscle. After hearing your story I definitely feel more confident about going to Dr Revis. I absolutely love your results, and I don't think that my expectations are too out of reach. I try and make sure that my expectations are realistic. I would like to keep the lower pole and have way more upper pole along with it if that's even possible. I do feel like my pockets are way over dissected my implants can move all around in there and when I lay on my back they do splay into my armpits, which is normal if you have natural breasts but I have implants LOL. So I do feel like I was a little bit over dissected.
Definitely! free roaming boobies! enlarged pockets are dangerous cuz thats how I almost got symmastia, thank God my tissue was strong enough. Thats what I had with my 550cc, my pockets were worse than yours, the boobs would go anywhere up to my collar bones way near my back haha. I did lots of typos on my other response, hope I still make sense.
My mom has massive real boobs, im jealous and she is very wide at the sternum, her boobs dont go under the armpits like mine did tho, its just that the breast tissue kinda falls over there being so big, but real boobs are nowhere near the armpit. That was another issue I had, lateral displacement, crazy, theyd slide from a higher position on the sides, they were not centered and for yrs I thought that this was normal lol. That doc thought they look natural placed like that. What you want is very simple, Dr Revis has no limits, he works with 3000cc implants. My case was more complicated, and my last doc insisted that i cannot go back to my 14.8cm width *eye roll* he kept saying ill have median pain and rippling, kept saying they will go higher on my chest. He couldnt see that they didnt fit because he placed them too high! ugh. He didnt know how to do a subglandular placement. Some docs man. I proved him wrong, i mean Dr Revis did. I knew it wasnt right for them to be so high yet he kept saying thats the right thing. I think Dr Revis has the tendency to place the implants closer than other docs, and mine now being so projected at 6.7cm, and my sternum so bony they look like balls and look abit low on my chest BUT its an illusion cuz when I compare them to my 550cc my moles on my chest prove that theyre placed at the same height and my right one even higher cuz it was bottomed out. Enough with my rambling, Just wanted to say your desire is nothing crazy and you deserve perfect results, the docs who say you cant do this or that arent skilled enough. Just dont go under the muscle for sure it creates so many other problems, its normal I mean our body doesnt like a foreign object under the muscle, you get Capsular contracture etc, real boobs arent under the muscle lol, half it covers the implant and you bottom out faster than ever if you lift weights. Plus the submuscular ones look like theyre hanging from the armpits lol. Whats crazy with mine is that I had the same implant type the Xtra HP gel at 700cc and now at 790cc, yet the 700cc were so much harder. In 3 days ill be 1 month post op and they feel soft like real, im amazed at Dr Revis' work no joke.
Please be careful and research your revision PS carefully. Research ALL platforms. And whatever you do don't buy into that internal bra. I know many ladies who have major issues with them from a certain PS as he stitches that directly to your rib cage and becomes very painful in the long run. Good luck.
