Consultation and pre op boobs

WORTH IT
I have been considering getting a breast augmentation for about 11 years; on and off I would think about making consultations even calling the offices and discussing the procedure but I just never followed through and booked the consultation. Fast forward to this year, now I’m turning 40 and have finally given myself the permission to go forward with this. I had felt a lot of guilt and had talked myself out of it because of what others would think. Ultimately when I stopped and listened to myself and started loving myself the answer was clear.

Day of Surgery: before and after
DorothySophiaMay 15, 2019
My surgery was very easy, but that's not to say I wasn't nervous about it. I was very nervous a few weeks before the surgery but I visualized and wrote down my "perfect surgery day" and that helped. I also prepared my home, and in doing so I felt more comfortable and prepared. If I could go back and tell myself something to be less nervous it would be that almost everyone in their lifetime goes through a surgery (elective or non) and since this was my first time, I have crossed a threshold, so to speak. After going through it, I'm not only not afraid of future surgeries, Its a lot easier for me to reassure friends and family of their surgeries.

Days 1 - 4: My Recovery Story
DorothySophiaMay 16, 2019
My check-in time was 6:30 am, surgery started a 7:30 and was done by 9am. I didn’t feel nauseous, just a bit cold. Tip: bring some food with you (crackers, gingerale, etc) just in case they don’t have food for you. The surgery center I went to
didn’t have any food. I made sure to stay on top of my pain meds and stool softeners. I actually over did it a bit with the softeners (oops). To prep for my surgery I began eating very clean about a month before, and adding more protein to my diet (per my PS’s recommendation). I’m vegan, so I supplemented with tempeh, pea protein (in my smoothies). I kept a journal of what I was eating and that helped significantly. So I kept up the clean eating through my recovery and I really think it has helped me immensely, but I’ll share more about that in upcoming posts. 365 cc was the max my PS would go for my frame (12cm BWD). I see ladies going much larger, but I had nothing to start with and I have to keep remembering that. He said that 365cc BARELY fit. Wow.
My surgery was on a Wednesday, and the last pain pill I took was Thursday evening, and at that point I just took ibuprofen and stopped taking that Sunday evening. I iced the boobs to prevent swelling, drank a lot of fluids and took in what I know to be anti-inflammatory foods (watermelon, mint, greens, turmeric). Note that if you go on an anti-inflammatory diet, make sure to experiment with it prior to your surgery! You DO NOT want to find out that something doesn’t agree with you during the recovery process!
