Birthday Boobs!
I wanted to leave a review, not just because of how brilliant Mr Banwell is, but also because I had a two-stage procedure and I’ve not seen many reviews of cases like mine.
I first met Mr Banwell in early 2022. He is incredibly intelligent, informative, charismatic, honest and practical.
I have been thinking about a breast augmentation since I was 16, as my breasts have never felt like they belong on my body. While the size has never really bothered me, they have never been shapely or perky, and I’ve always had to wear padded bras to create some volume and shape. In my early 30’s after 2 children they definitely weren’t looking any better, and I decided to take the plunge and finally do something about them.
Mr Banwell was the only surgeon I consulted with. I had spent about a year seriously researching surgeons and believe they are absolutely defined by their body of work. All of Mr Banwell’s work is consistently excellent, and none of his patients look “done”. All of the women in his portfolio are beautifully in proportion and all look natural, so I knew he was the surgeon for me.
Unfortunately my breasts were not going to be straightforward to improve. Mr Banwell suggested that we perform a 2 stage procedure; firstly a lift and then an augmentation when everything had settled. As a mum to 2 kids under 5 I was hesitant to go through 2 surgeries and 2 recoveries so requested a single stage procedure, and we met several times over 5 months to discuss the best options for me. Ultimately Mr Banwell was adamant we’d get the best results with a 2 stage procedure. He was very happy for me to get a second opinion, but I didn’t want one. He is the expert and so I took his advice. I am so glad I did.
I opted for the lift in September 2022. A 2-stage procedure is a difficult one to get your head round! I had different lifts on each breast because one had a larger areola and was more droopy than the other. Afterwards they were both improved, but they’re almost your “holding pattern” breasts because you know there’s another surgery coming.
Over the next few months I spent a long time deciding over size with rice bags at home, which I found difficult because they felt very fake and the projection was very confusing. I wanted a very natural look, almost the way my existing breasts looked when in a padded bra. While I was assured my frame could take a slightly larger implant than the one I opted for, being 35 I wanted the size to still suit me in 10 years time as well as being mindful of my career in the fitness industry - I didn’t want my implants to limit certain exercises or running, and I know friends who struggle doing cardio with big boobs. Paul was very supportive of my considerations.
6 months after the lift, I had my enlargement surgery in early March 2023 - Mr Banwell promised me I’d have new boobs in time for my 35th birthday, and he delivered! I cannot state enough how delighted I am! I’m absolutely in love with them; they have completely exceeded my expectations and I can’t stop looking at them. I feel like I finally have the breasts I was always meant to have!
I really believe Mr Banwell is the best in his field. He has completely changed my life and I cannot thank him enough.
