Finally had my first bowel movement today 6…
Finally had my first bowel movement today 6 days since my last one. I upped my nightly Senokot to 2 tablets a couple days ago and have been drinking coffee every morning to try and stimulate my large intestine. Usually it works the same day but guess it took awhile to overpower the effect of the pain meds. Speaking of pain meds, I'm down to only 1-3 oxycodone or empracet a day instead of up to 6. Pain is basically gone except in the mornings when I wake up feeling like the implants are trying to push themselves out of my body. Is this what "morning boob" is? Spoke to my PS's office and they said I can shower like normal if I leave the tape over the stitches. First post-op appointment is in 2 days and that's when I'll be switching from tensor bandages to a supportive sports bra. Any recommendations on cheap ones to get in the Vancouver, BC area? Can't wait to be cleared for exercise, I'm feeling so claustrophobic and heavy after being indoors all day watching Netflix. Been able to dress myself with absolutely no pain since day 3 post-op and started wearing non-button up tops. How long before your boobs started feeling soft and you were able to swim?
28 years old// 5'2" // Asian// no kids// 125 lbs// Natrelle Inspira 335cc SRF smooth round full projection
I hope that this will help someone with my similar stats. My problem is that I'm Asian and petite (read: straight) everywhere except my middle so it was tough to find proportions to bring out that feminine, womanly figure I felt like I was inside without looking top heavy and re-inforcing my curveless figure. I spent 3 years researching possible ways including fat transfer. I originally chose Dr. Macadam because she was one of the only surgeons in my area that had experience in fat transfer but also because she has a lot of experience in reconstructive breast surgery and it made me feel like my PS was less about superficiality and more about bringing that womanly shape out. After our consult, I decided to do implants over fat transfer because of the lower cost and higher probability of getting the exact results I wanted without a 2nd surgery and additional cost.
Day of surgery:
No food or water from midnight on. Arrived at the surgical centre which was conveniently located downtown at 730am. Nurse took my blood pressure, pulse and double checked my medical information. Then Dr. Macadam came in and did markings on my chest, we confirmed sizes (I had recently switched from 295 or 325 to 335 that week after talking with my friend who was the same size as me and wished she had done 335 instead of 330. I gotta say this for Dr. Macadam's office, they are amazing! Normally the supplier requires 2 weeks notice and I had emailed only 4 days prior to surgery about going with 335. Her office was able to get it delivered straight to the surgical centre.) She was confident and enthused and I started feeling more excited about how it was actually happening. The anesthesiologist came in next and we went over some of my food and medical allergies which affected which antiseptic washes they would use. I was brought to the OR at 815am, lay down under a funky, light, hollow, plastic blanket which had warm air blowing into it to keep me warm. They put on calf compressors (like the ones that measure your blood pressure) to keep blood from pooling in your legs. Gave me some drugs through IV and I was out.
When I woke up it was 930am, I was in the recovery room with a guy in the bed next to me and I asked my nurse if he also got boobs lol. I had severe dry mouth from the pain meds and my legs were shaking. The nurse said it's because they use a paralytic when you go into surgery and then reverse it with another compound that can cause your muscles to squirm a lot. My muscles were squirming so much my neck got tense and I had no strength to turn and crack it. They gave me more pain meds, water and ginger ale. It felt like a big pressure was on my chest although I couldn't distinguish if it was from the tensor bandage wrapped tightly around me or from the implants. Anyways, had no strength, couldn't really move my arms without engaging muscles around my chest or back, was super groggy and light headed. No nausea though thank god! After awhile, I was moved to a chair where the nurse gave me some post-op instructions, I got changed and my ride came to get me around 1045am. Easy breezy.
I felt like I should eat something so we got small fries from McDonald's but my mouth was so dry (no matter how much liquid I drank) that the fries turned to dry paste in my throat and I couldn't breathe. So after trying to choke it down a couple times and having the same thing, we got chocolate Frosty's from Wendy's instead which went down much easier! I spent most of that day sitting in my living room feeling groggy or sleeping in my bed. Woke up every 3-4h and took more pain meds and antibiotics. Started taking my overnight laxative and stool softener because I know all the pain meds will cause constipation. I heard that you should start the laxatives and stool softener a couple days before getting on the pain meds but oh well.
Post-Op Day 1
So far, a bit of my swelling has come down and I've been able to retighten my tensor. The bottom of my boobs where the inframammary (crease) incision is, feels sore to the touch. The top of my boobs where the implants are riding, feel tight and hard. I have feeling in my right nipple but absolutely nothing in my left. I'm not concerned about it yet though because local anesthetic can take 3 days to wear off. That's why they say the 2nd or 3rd days are the worst for pain. I was instructed to only walk to and from the bathroom but I've been doing some walking around my apartment, and light reaching. I feel like this has helped me regain some more mobility and range of motion in my arms. Tomorrow will be 48h post-op and the first time I'll be allowed to shower. Although I don't understand how I'm supposed to shower without getting the dressings wet? I was told that at my first follow up 7 days post, that's when we would change dressings. What did you girls do?
